Might be getting this for a family member.
It is on the large side (89mm long) though the tail pushbutton switch accounts for some of that. 180lm is a lot for a 1AAA light, especially if the recipient uses alkaline batteries in it. And the Amazon page doesn’t say anything about the LED CRI.
Alternatives I’d suggest include Skilhunt E3A (1 level, around 100 lumens, available with high CRI led, 59.5mm long iirc) and Fenix E01 v2 (3 levels, around 65mm, idr what LED but nothing great). I find smaller lights carry better in the coin pocket of my jeans.
I do like the 1AAA format but only if the light is small. Once you’re at 89mm, you’re dealing with bigger lights and there are more options to consider: 1AA, 16340/18350 with built in rechargers, etc.
the Amazon page doesn’t say anything about the LED CRI.
My spectrophotometer says something about it: 74.5 (middling). It says something about the rest too:
- CCT: 7196K
- Duv 0.0058 (very green)
- R12 (deep blue rendering): 50.1 (bad)
- R9 (deep red rendering): -30.6 (atrocious)
I also don’t like the size for the battery type, excessive high mode for the battery type, and lack of medium mode. I don’t know OP’s criteria and budget, so it’s possible this light would still make sense. The Fenix LD02 v2 could be an alternative.
