Wael’s family were taking shelter in an area designated as safe by the Israeli army. His wife, son and daughter were murdered by the Israelis
I’m sure this was an “accident” and that the IDF isn’t targeting journalists.
Odd how many journalists, journalist families, aid workers, and medical personnel have died in this conflict, though.
Im playing the devils advocate here, but wouldn’t you hear more about journalist families, as they have a larger following and platform?
I think the IDF nefarious and inhuman, but if a lot of people die then the only ones reported about are if their position in life is different from others. Journalists, aid workers, children bring more to a story, therefore reporting on them is more relevant (statistcally, I’m trying very hard to not let my emotions sway me in this conflict).
Journalists are a very small proportion of the population and are afforded protections in combat. The murder of journalists (and their families) and aid workers (and their families) either shows extreme negligence or an intent to seek retribution for some perceived slight.

Absolutely. My point being that the scale and wanting manner of destruction and the general disregard of Palestinian life in this ‘war’ is so massive that it’s hard to prove intent in the case of the murder of the family of the journalist.
If those families are targeted specifically is another level of evil. But it’s hard to really prove that, was my main point.
Aide from that, the fact that families die at all, with almost no rationale that van be related to supposed military targets is in itself a breach of military law.
Oh for sure. For what it’s worth, in the events leading up to the ah-Ahli massacre it’s also known that Israel struck the homes of the hospital administrators of ah-Ahli that had refused to evacuate the hospital after Israel’s demands and warnings.
A whole lot of coincidences…
Israel has mapped the entire Gaza Strip in the surface. I have no reason to believe that they simply got “lucky”.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
Al Jazeera has reported that the wife, son, and daughter of one of its correspondents in Gaza were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Wednesday night.
In a statement, Al Jazeera said: “Their home was targeted in the Nuseirat camp in the centre of Gaza, where they had sought refuge after being displaced by the initial bombardment in their neighbourhood, following Prime Minister Netanyahu’s call for all civilians to move south.”
The Israeli military did not offer an immediate response to the strike, which reportedly targeted the area where Mr Al-Dahdouh’s family sought refuge after receiving a warning about an impending Gaza ground incursion.
“The network strongly condemns the indiscriminate targeting and killing of innocent civilians in Gaza, which has led to the loss of Wael Al-Dahdouh’s family and countless others,” Al Jazeera added.
Health officials said hundreds of Palestinians were killed in the past day and medical facilities were shut down because of bomb damage and lack of power.
The massive air bombardment continued through the night as Israeli jets hit sites across Gaza, the Hamas-run Interior Ministry claimed.
The original article contains 320 words, the summary contains 180 words. Saved 44%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
“Israel-Hamas war” is the most disgusting framing I have ever seen.
Expending ammunition to practice accuracy is as close to practice in a “real” conflict as you will get. Genocide is just the cherry on top.
When NATO started getting fucked up in Ukraine I made a joke that they were so ill equipped to fight against enemies that actually shot back.
EDIT: and touwarists getting themselves shot to ribbons because they they wanted to play call of duty in real life.
