  • I don’t know anything about 3D printing, but I make stuff all the time. (

As background, I have done casual woodworking for ~20 years, lots of DIY, lots of tinkering with small swappable parts for making home items, I recently started using epoxies and resins to a solid effect. I’m excellent as t learning software, which is really my primary skill everything cognitive relies upon.

Would this be a good entry level device? If no, what do you recommend?

  • The amount of second hand content an LLM needs to consume to train inevitably includes copyrighted material. If they used this thread, the quotes OP included would end up in the training set.

The amount of fan forums and wikis on copy written material provide copious amounts of information about the stories and facilitate the retelling. They’re right that it is impossible for a general purpose LLM.

My personal experience so far though has been that general purpose and multiple modality LLMs are less consistently useful to me than GPT4 was at launch. I think small, purpose built LLMs with trusted content providers have a better chance of success for most users, but we will see if anyone can make that work given the challenge of bringing users to the right one for the right task.

  • In that court, you have to be able to provide a lot of documentary evidence to prove the contract was breached as a factual matter. NFTs can be set as immutable events in a log of massive data to sort through.

There are other logistical challenges to it. My point really boils down to the technology got massive negativity publicity while in infancy due to being exploited by con artists.

NFTs are an interesting and valuable technology that will be useful in the future as a means of digital media ‘ownership’ in place of ‘perpetual licensing’ like we see when we ‘buy’ media from servers today.

There’s more to it than monkey pictures, and if people saw that, we would have greater control over media libraries than in the present.
