How to get started with Monero

I’ve see many people mention monero in similar discussion forums many times. As a person who only ever uses cash for most of their transactions besides the ones online, how does one get started in acquiring monero? I have no idea and would like to know if theres reliable/reputable sources for information thats extremely noob friendly or is it a simple process to begin with? Thank you in advance and I can’t wait to learn about this.

Edit: Unrelated to the original question I’m still new to lemmy but I can’t actually see all of the comments for some reason haha

I pretty much just buy on an exchange with KYC, then shift to another exchange that has XMR and transfer out to my own hardware wallet. One of the mods in #monero:monero.social mentioned https://kycnot.me which is also a useful site.
