    That might be the real problem in Japan, but it certainly is not the real problem in the US. In the US the real problem is there is no mandated parental leave.

      Since you want to make this conversation about the United states, the United States also has a Workforce issue where employees do not feel empowered to use all of the days off that they have compensation available for. You missed the point.

        Nor do they feel empowered to find a job they are good at or want to do, improving quality, efficiency, productivity, etc. because the job they have “has insurance benefits”. Even if it’s pure misery.
