Appin was a leading Indian cyberespionage firm that few people even knew existed. A Reuters investigation found that the company grew from an educational startup to a hack-for-hire powerhouse that stole secrets from business titans, politicians, military officials and wealthy elites around the globe. Appin alumni went on to form other firms that are still active today.
The author had a chance to make a “hack the planet” reference, but didn’t. I’m not sure if I can take their advise at this point.
I am honestly curious about what western cultural reference does this refer to (?).
Hackers, a glorious movie from 1995 about a bunch of misfit teenage hackers. The movie has some killer taglines like hack the planet and RISC is good. Worth a watch although more in the fun-bad category than the classic films category.
