Let’s see if it’s finally the Switch successor this time and not a less exciting reason that they do this.
This may also be just due to this exploit? https://migswitch.com/
Ugh i’m kinda bummed I just bought an OLED. I should’ve waited for the switch 2.
…or bought a SteamDeck and used Yuzu or Ryujinx to pirate and play the same games, plus PC games.
Source: Finished Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom on my SteamDeck. The gyroscope in the SteamDeck was a killer feature for BOTW. Trying to solve the gyroscope puzzles in BOTW with a mouse was basically impossible.
Do the Switch emulators have any way to do online play with friends who own an actual switch?
Short answer: no.
Long answer?
nooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Yuzu can play online with any games that have ‘local’ multiplayer on the switch. Pokemon, Stardew Valley, etc.
Edit. Just realized you wanted emulator to console multiplayer. That’s a no.
How did they run? Totk chugged on my gen 1 switch
TOTK had more areas where it slowed down a little, but I averaged 25-30fps most of the time, with shrines being more like 40fps.
Honestly sounds better than my experience with the switch
Yarr Harr Fiddle Dee Dee…
Seriously, fuck Nintendo. Constantly hiding their own games catalogue from people so they’ll pay more for the same game again on a new system. It’s fucking garbage business practice, and it’s moved to other industries now, with Warner Bros. deciding that putting stuff in a vault costs less than releasing it.
Silly jump to conclusions when it is more likely just repackaging things as “greatest hits” editions or something.
