Just to add onto this comment, it’s thought that the Sun is slowly getting hotter and more energetic as it gets older and in approximately 1 billion years, the Sun will be hot enough to render the Earth uninhabitable for life as we know it.
In approximately 5 billion years, the Sun will reach the end of its life and expand into a red giant, swallowing up Mercury, Venus and potentially Earth in the process. Interestingly, once the Sun reaches this phase of its life, it could potentially warm up some of the outer moons enough for them to have liquid water, if they can hold onto an atmosphere of course.
Someone please correct me if I said anything wrong, I’m just a casual space nerd and not a professional astronomer.
Yes, I’m aware of that.
Should’ve or should have
Sorry, that’s one of my pet peeves lol
“You’re not that guy”
…
“Thank you!”

“I am that guy”
Even with federated bans, people like that will just find ways around it to continue making alts cause they have nothing better to do with their sad lives. Just like the obvious hexbear alts on different instances these days, losers gonna loser unfortunately.
Much harder to stop them without making it too difficult for real users than it is for them to just keep making alts to spread whatever flavour of bullshit they want.
I would outlaw starting work before 12pm. I’m 30 and I still absolutely hate mornings just as much as I did when I was 10. I’m naturally a night person but working graveyards has more problems than dealing with early mornings IMO. Let all the morning people feel the pain of having to be productive during your least productive hours for a change.
It’s just a common way to call someone an idiot where I’m from 😅
Mushrooms.
Everything about them disgusts me, from the way they look, to the way they smell, the texture they have and the disgusting mouldy, dirty taste. Even seeing them growing in the ground grosses me out and I’ll take a wide path around them to avoid going near them.
Outside of magic mushrooms, they have literally zero redeeming qualities. I hate them with a passion and it’s basically the only food I never grew out of hating.
Unfortunately for the bears, it’s duck season, not wabbit season!
Tbh I find it much more surprising that there’s an overlap of bears and stupid people than I do smart kids and dumb adults.
I’ve met an unfortunate amount of people that would struggle to dump water out of their boots with the instructions written on the bottom of the sole.
Black holes just blow my mind. Even in the future, how the hell will we ever be able to study and truly understand them? Unless we find a way to break the light speed barrier, I feel like they’re going to remain as the one object we can never truly understand.
Hmm I’ll have to read about the quantum field theory, I haven’t heard of that before.
Thanks for the YouTube links, I can always use more space heavy channels in my life!
Thanks!
Edit: Finished reading the article, and it was great! Gonna be scrolling through that website tonight as my night reading before bed. Thanks again for the link!
“Super Earth, our home…”
Sorry, I get what you’re talking about but my mind has been permanently tainted to think of Helldivers now whenever I see a mention of Super Earth’s haha.
But to be serious, I agree completely. Massive rocky planets are a fascinating topic, and the idea of a planet even more habitable for life than Earth is hard to even imagine but is a fascinating concept. I’ve also read about “evaporated” gas giants, where the star’s stellar wind has blown away the thick atmosphere of a mini Neptune and left behind just the rocky core, which is thought to have a ton of water left.
Such a shame I wasn’t born in a future where we can casually explore space, that may never be a reality but I like to think it will be.
Just read through the Wikipedia article on that star, that’s insanely cool. I’ve never heard about this particular star before so that was a fun read.
Imagine if we found even simple single celled life in the subsurface oceans that are theorised to exist beneath their surfaces. It’d be the single biggest discovery in the history of humanity IMO even if it’s just bacteria.
Magnetars are fucking cool as hell, I vividly remember getting a Scientific American magazine as a kid that was all about Magnetars. Such fascinating objects.
Fascinating, any articles that a layman could understand? I love space but I have no formal education in it, all my knowledge comes from years of reading magazines, articles, and watching documentaries etc.
I’ll add Neutron stars on top of that, the dead core of a star living on to slowly cool for an unfathomable amount of time. Also, Red Dwarfs eventually becoming Blue Dwarfs as they age is cool af too.
Nah, let your dog lick it clean since they have cleaner mouths than us filthy humans. Whenever I’m done eating I just let my dog lick the plate/bowl/whatever clean and then it’s good to go back in the cupboard.
