Yeah if I’m not mistaken there are contemporary records of Genghis Khan, no?
The first ever mention of Jesus at all is in a writing from 300+ years after his supposed life. Also, Jesus is a character from a religious text which we all know cannot be trusted as historical fact. I think - but I could be wrong - that Genghis Khan is written about in numerous corroborating texts from the actual era? Someone check me on that please.
Edit: yeah I looked it up GK was in the 12th century that’s really not ancient. He’s written about in many sources from across Asia and Europe in many languages. That’s corroborating evidence. Jesus is not mentioned anywhere other than scriptures from hundreds of years after his supposed existence.
Plus there have been numerous figures in other mythologies that have many or most of the same characteristics which make it more likely a classical kind of archetype. Mithra, Horus, Krishna… and a handful of others who predate Jesus’ supposed existence. That’s actually counter-evidence that supports the idea that he was not real, in fact.
Statutes, not statues.
Lutris seems to offer a lot of easy setups for games, but I want to use some windows apps from my own installation files, and it seems to be not very intuitive
You have to understand, you are seeing people of VERY low intelligence. I know that’s tough to accept, but demographics are really frightening in America. Millions of voters with intelligence not very much higher than outright mental retardation. And so, the system learned long ago, you don’t bother trying to get them to think you’re right for the job, you don’t want them thinking at all. So you just get them to ally with you as a tribe, and that way they’re yours even if you’re doing the opposite of what they want.
Lookup the phrase “Swamps of Degobah”
U.S.A. is not a democracy, it’s an oligarchy. Has been for decades, but more so now than ever before. Corporations have begun to openly ignore law and have no fear of punishment. Because they own the government they write the laws and they decide what happens everywhere.
As I said in a different comment, it’s a painful thing to hear, but the sad simple truth is, the bad guys won.
It would be nice if corporate bribery were not allowed. Giving tens of millions to them - to their “campaign” - which they all funnel and launder into their pockets - is literal and unambiguous bribery. And yet it’s the reality of our nation.
Well yes except our government is bought and owned by those corporations. That’s why we are not represented by them.
There’s a simple way to put it, but it’s painful to hear: the bad guys won.
He’s beholden to the corporations controlled by the wealthiest 1%. Anyone who gets elected is already someone who “plays ball” because they don’t get to there otherwise.
Nope. America is OWNED by rich people. It’s a corporation and they make the laws so all the laws are to help them have more power.
I guess they don’t have their wealthy running the government and writing the laws.
It’s the only thing we will have left pretty soon. Capitalism is pretty close to flatlining. Then we will have a Corporate Congress and the nation will become The United Corporation of America - in name as opposed to now where that’s what it is but it’s not yet called that.
We need a kind of everybody union.
I had this conversation with lots of people if everyone saw a company is doing things or taking advantage of people imagine if on the exact same day, one million customers canceled their accounts. That kind of unity can give all the power needed to the regular people. But you can’t get people to cooperate or even to have enough self-discipline to go along with something that isn’t for their immediate and measurable benefit. And so the big players know they can abuse and exploit.
Hey, the moment it becomes less than the best, I’m out lol. I guess it’s goodbye chromium.
It’s actually not what I was using; I was using nativefier to make webapp using electron. I guess I’m just gonna ditch all these ideas and just stick to Firefox and that’s it.
Yep, it’s kinda the last straw. I don’t do ads, period.
Nice! Thanks.
I have Vivaldi installed mayhap I’ll give it a try.
Yeah clearly that’s the choice. It’s not a huge deal obviously I’m just using the sites in Firefox I was just hoping chromium was a possibility.
The thing is, we (you know, us) are very dependent upon Firefox and their management has really exhibited some stubbornness in the recent years with regard to some issues that the user-base really don’t agree with. No I’m not citing examples I just have encountered this more than once or twice in the recent years with a variety of issues.
Gotcha. And no, lol, I don’t believe in fairy tales. But that’s interesting about the sources. I’d like to read about that. It was my understanding that any mention of him was centuries later but even decades is suspect. Think about it - how in the world would nobody write about such events at the time? Why would it be decades before any mention? A logical answer is that by then the leaders could craft some legend or even maybe just exaggerate based on some kind of stories that existed. Point is, once we’re dealing with a time when the written word was already common, it makes no sense that such miraculous tales would not be written about widely and plentifully.
