Fun fact, this is where the term trigger fingers originated.
Or maybe not, I dunno
This is way more accurate than that urban dictionary.
In Hawaii (depending on where you are) shaka is used all the time. Kinda like waving to someone with a hint of good vibe to it. Also to emphasize “hey that’s cool”. You see it a lot waving thanks to cars, too
When the image appears on the screen, he says, “we didn’t want the blade runner future. Well, maybe that cool duster he’s wearing.” So anyone there would likely assume that the image is from Blade Runner. The intent of the image was Blade Runner.
That’s why I said “that I’d feel bad throwing away”.
The stages for high end go like this: sent to “goodwill boutique” and/or listed online. Sent to cheaper local goodwill with markdown. Added to cheap-item-Sunday (for ones that still do that). Sent to bulk outlet (where people fill a bag and pay one price for entire bag or by the pound). Finally, recyclers
So they don’t block it so much as delay I suppose. But they’ve gotten good at regionalizing their processes
But let’s also be fair, as in “I gave it to them for free out of convenience while getting rid of the stuff that I’d feel bad just throwing away”
I didn’t judge anyone.
Sorry I threw out a hyperbolic number to a future time for a conversational thought experiment, despite it being rationally accurate. Someone else shared some data that yes, most deaths are not gamers. 3/4 of deaths are old age over the age of 65, and 6% of people over the age of 65 play video games. But that doesn’t matter. I said you were being judgmental about me as a person for some reason and that wasn’t called for.
I think the opposite, if you want to adjust your jumping to judgemental conclusions. I’m old and social. I grew up in a place where nobody gamed or had computers.
Nearly all of the close people in my life did not/do not game. My circle is outdoorsy or go out somewhere people I guess. We have kids and families and precious little free time. I’ve never had friends come over to game or however that goes. I guess I could seek out people who want to game with me, but if someone has free time at the same time as I do, we’d rather do something else.
Hope this broadens your perspective of people.
I can’t even imagine 100 years from now when gamers are dying every day.
Right now I feel like I can change an account name and email pretty easily and nobody would care. But when that account is 130 years old, someone might start asking questions
Misfits is not really what you’re asking for, but is a more light hearted a-typical superhero show about people who were sentenced to community service all accidentally gaining super powers. They mostly use their powers selfishly but not in evil ways. It’s pretty well done as far as character growth
I made it to the first episode of season 3. It was just trying way too hard at that point to not be a show anymore but pure shock value
Sadly points to the average young person’s attention span these days
I love announcements for announcements
NYT and other major outlets that carried the same Reuters pull used language of “the channel based in Qatar”. AP said “broadcaster”.
Actually, Reuters only said “entered”, so NYT added “forcibly”. AP only said raided. BBC also said entered.

Russia article is about a law passed that made it illegal to discredit the Russian military and lead to thousands of arrests and stamping out protests. It was a months long investigative report

Israel article is a news push from Reuters. However the Reuters article, and the rest of the media that used the piece included the word “raid” in the title. The original Reuters article also was much longer and included Al Jazeera response…
Makes me wonder if sticking your head in an MRI every couple weeks would rewire your brain…
I dunno*, if ever there were a symbol for reaction instead of proaction, it’s Batman. Punch their face, toss them in an “asylum”. Sometimes announce to noone in particular, “they’ll get you the help you need.” Like he actually believed it or is trying to convince himself, as if it wasn’t the 15th time he’d bloodied this guy’s face. Great detective, though.
*I’ve never read the comics
Honestly, if you want quality educational support, subscription services are more often going to be your gold standard. Ones that work in a browser probably best bet. Line ABC Mouse or whatever.
My benefit of the doubt these days is that mods were the first to abandon ship. It’s been a while since I checked in, but every community was understaffed or had new people doing everything.
