  • I hear you. I was looking more for Arch with less of a hassle. Something similar to my Steamdeck. I guess I should just wipe this weekend for something else. I really want something for playing my steam and GOG games that works with my Nvidia 3080.

Luckily for me I keep every game installed on different Steam Libraries so wiping my install drive to put something else in isn’t difficult.

  • I just installed Manjaro over my windows 10 drive and the effort so far has been way easier than I thought.

KDE Plasma reminds me a lot of WIn 10, and nearly everything I did on my windows system works under Linux without hassle. The only issue I had were certain technical things like overlooking my GPU and setting up my LED lights.

  • The problem now is that they stopped prescribing opiates for people go need them. Now, the suicide rate has increased for those with Chronic Pain issues. Many places stopped giving Pain medication after major surgeries.

They were giving Ocycontin for minor muscle pain, because regular doctors were told that it had no abuse risk. Now, they assume everyone has the predisposition for opioid addiction, when it’s only 5% of the population or so.

As a person who needs pain meds daily just to function, I miss the days when doctors were able to focus on doctring instead of withholding treatment because the DEA wants to arrest doctors. Over 20 years I’ve been on opiates and when I get a prescription canceled, or need to change meds, I stop them and after 3 days I’m clean again.

It’s not that big of a deal when you don’t get high from regular dosages. I never moved to the black market, I usually just suffer and complain to my doctor politely when I can’t get out of bed and bathe myself because they stop my medications.

Many other people choose Suicide be abuse constant 24/7 pain takes a heavy toll on your psyche.

  • In the US, there are multiple Supreme Court precedent cases that force profit-maximizing. Shareholders can sue the CEO and board to maximize profit seeking.

So yes, increasing shareholder value is enshrined in US law. Only private corporations can get around that rule. Also, a corporation cannot be forced to break the law to maximize profits, that’s just something most CEO’s are willing to do for fun.

  • I think I figured out why Todd Howard seems to have tried to make Fallout die; he never wanted to buy Fallout, but was pressured by Zenimax into purchasing a second IPin case The Elder Scrolls ever fails.

Fallout has always been a backup to The main Elder Scrolls games in case he makes a mistake. If Fallout succeeds in a massive way, there is a chance he will have to start giving it more resources than his own pride and joy.

It’s classic step-parent mentality. The suits made him into a step parent, so he managed a quick skin over oblivion and just copied bits and pieces of the first games stories like a high school student copying a book report from a book he never read. He didn’t really care about the substance from the previous games, but there was a lot of old concept art they could mash up and the 50’s aesthetic meant they could save a lot of money on licensing fees for music.

Then is sold big and ruined his chances for quietly making the story go away. But Skyrim was a huge success which should have made the idea of a second IP unnecessary. So, they decided to focus on their new game and let a company known for doing cheap sequels for other game companies IP.

Personally I wonder if Todd Howard was actually paying attention to who Obsidian had on staff, or if he just wanted a company who was willing to take the millstone from his neck so he could focus on the game he really wanted to make. The reason I think that Todd didn’t know who Obsidian were is because of how he treated the next company who he let play with the Fallout IP.

Fallout 76 was the only other title made by a mostly outside developer. I say mostly, because they were a newly acquired studio who had no real experience. Which led to a failure in Fallout 76 from launch. Compare that to how ESO was put together. It was built by Zenimax Online a core studio designed just for an online MMO Elder Scrolls game. They weren’t forced to use the single-player Gamebryo/Creation Engine. It was designed as it’s own online game.

Fallout has been consistently designed to fail, which is why Microsoft should just remove it from Bethesda and get someone who understands the story and is willing to follow the real story Canon make new games. We’re in this issue because Todd Howard has been forced to work on Fallout, which is amazing how even with him trying the screw it up, we still enjoy the Fallout world.

  • I wish Microsoft would force Bethesda to share their toys with other people.

Todd Howard is the epitome of the egotistical rich wannabe need who takes his toys away if someone does something better than he does.

Gamers love Obsidian’s rushed bullied New Vegas better than 3, make sure they never get another chance to let someone else into their sandbox.

They try to copy Mass Effect’s dialog system and voiced protagonist to do “something new” it backfires. Fallout 4 has no real tied story to it besides a few lines from a single quest from Fallout 3. The Factions are a copy and paste job based around an AI system so they don’t have to write content.

I find it wasetul of Microsoft that they Purchased a studio and IP worth Billions and will allow them to gather dust for over a decade without any ROI? Why aren’t they starting to force Bethesda to make something with the Fallout IP.

InXile should at least be allowed to remaster Fallout 1. They have Brian Fargo still there to oversee it. It all reminds me of Doctor Who taking a break when they were at their peak popularity, then coming back after losing most of their fans.

  • So, the elites get all the fancy meth thy want for free, but I can’t get my necessary pain medication for the last 3 years. I’m stuck in a Lay z Boy and an office chair in constant pain while the eople mak8ng the rules denying my care can get anything they want…

This is the worst timeline ever. Read the article, it was Obama and Trumo that both had this happen under.

  • He only bought Twitter because he was forced to or admit he was trying to manipulate the stock again.

He bought a much higher stake, used Twitter to telegraph a higher price than it was worth. Then he didn’t use his own money when he was finally forced to purchase Twitter at the higher price he tweeted. The money he used to purchase Twitter came from countries who have stated they didn’t want Twitter to be around because it hurt their public perception when they were caught doing shady things.

His Twitter gift started the same way the SEC sued him for market manipulation for his Tesla manipulation years before. Publishing his $420 price point then selling stock when the price goes beyond his tweeted price point.

He was never savy enough to use shorting like the Hedge funds do, but his reach among the idiot masses to cause jumps in price to artificially male a bigger profit.
