Plenty have been fighting for it, but there’s an uphill battle against “but that’s socialism and socialism is evil!” and those that personally benefit financially who stand in the way.

I feel you on that. Full disclosure - I’ve hit the point in my life where my kids are grown and self sustaining and I’m finally working a job that actually meets my needs. I wish you the absolute best in finding the right job for you and that hopefully life can suck at least a little less.
I’m also allergic, so I buy stupidly expensive cat food that reduces the enzyme in cats saliva that most people react to. I’m good to cuddle and pet my cat, as long as I can avoid scratches, I’m good.
I’d love to hear the explanation for this one lol.
I read up on it a few years back. Long story short, the number of “T-bone” type accidents where the side of the car gets hit decreased, while the number of people getting rear ended significantly increased (allowing that some rear end collisions also go unreported due to lower degrees of damage.)
There was a whole rethink of the use/benefits and disabling/not installing them further, but I can’t remember the outcome.
Like I said, I spend a lot of time driving, so forgive me for not pulling sources in the middle of my work day. Gotta drive to the next patient’s house lol.
Yep, that and the inconsistencies of timing. Some areas yellow are very long, some are short, and some seen to vary within the “allowable range.” In other words, encouraging people to slam on the brakes because God only knows when the lights will change.
I hate the cameras (I spend most of my work day driving city/suburban areas) and think that if they’re going to exist, they should have longer yellows to give more opportunity for drivers not to panic between getting ticketed or rear ended.
Ham, pineapple, onions, green peppers, and jalapenos, no sauce. One of my favorite pizzas.
There’s enough goodness that you really don’t need pizza sauce on it, or at least I’ve never come across a sauce that works with pineapple. But the flavors and textures work well together.
As close as you can get to “eat soon”. It’ll have a decent air pocket developed and the membrane adhering to the shell will be weaker.
Similarly, I have an iPhone. It was provided by my employer for work purposes. It’s about as enjoyable as having a small stone in my shoe that can’t be removed. Oh, and the other shoe is half a size too small.
My Pixel is so much easier and makes more sense. I carry both when working and use the iPhone only when absolutely necessary.
Oh, in America you still have to provide those things too, AND have a decent credit score.
Very close - the cop and his partner emptied their guns at the car where the suspect was cuffed in the back seat, but never physically wounded him, just severely traumatized him.
Evolution has already selected the helicopters to escape police detection.
There’s always the “aw fuck it, roll it in cocoa powder” approach lol.
Human? I thought you were an albatross. 🤨
An irritating number of companies make it inconvenient to just view a menu, and want you to “Start your order!” to see prices and availability. I get that certain items are regional so entering a zip code makes sense, but if I just want to look at a menu and prices to see if I even want to do business with them I shouldn’t have to create an account.
That said, for convenience purposes I’ll occasionally order food online or over the phone so it’s ready by the time I’m driving past on my way home and pick it up.
Depends on the size of the household, ages and activities of people living there. Plus depending on the product and storage, most expiration dates have some wiggle room.
“cheesy vanilla flavor with bits of corn”
That is seriously not helping lol. I will concede though that it could be one of those things better tasting than you would imagine. Like the first time I tried the off the cob version of elote (Mexican Street corn.) A cup of hot corn with mayo, cheese, and chili powder? I thought it sounded bizarre at the time but holy shit - I ate the hell out of it and wanted more lol.
Weird. I work in hospice. We somewhat regularly get patients signing in because of COVID/COVID effects, but I can’t recall the last time someone signed in because they had “really bad flu.” It’s almost like one is still significantly worse to get.
👋
I’m bad about remembering.
Then again, I suspect I somehow may have ended up with the good gene as I have incredibly dry ear wax. On top of that I typically use antiperspirant instead of deodorant anyway, because I dislike feeling wet.
