Maybe stop releasing a new fucking game every god damn year

Which is why I support the idea of setting up bases on the Moon and/or Mars.
Everything is accelerating, and nobody gives a fuck to do anything before it’s too late. I hate the argument that NASA doesn’t push its budget to prevent CC or even Space X. Because stopping CC is a global effort on a colossal scale. It’s not going to work until it’s too late. Might as well get off this rock.
Edit: Very fucking optimistic of you all
I find this hard to believe. At this point Switch 2 “rumors” have just been used for clickbait now.
I think they’re working on it but it won’t be for awhile.
Lemmy is obviously getting bigger and bigger. Especially with the revolts against Reddit, and it seems currently we are in a similar state to where Reddit was when it was first started. Are there any tools you currently plan on implementing for server admins to prevent bot accounts, server toxicity, etc?
Also, do you guys have any worries about the fediverse devolving into a toxic cesspool of politics and unhinged users, like Reddit did? My worry is that over time, Lemmy as a whole will devolve into Reddit and be like one big virus that just spread over time due to growth. Once idiots find a platform to settle on they stay there. I think most people don’t want that.
I’m pretty much forced to use the Samsung launcher as I can’t live without the gestures. I’ve tried multiple launchers and the gestures are always broken in some form or fashion.
But…using Goodlock has made it bearable.
I swear it feels like for a lot of the things I do on Linux there’s a GUI app for it, but then if I wanna do something as basic as adjust my fan speed I gotta use the freaking terminal.
Like it’s always at the worst possible time.
Edit: I’ve installed a distro on my gaming PC that I really liked, used it on my laptop. Sensors and fans were fully supported. Did not work at all on my PC so I told it to fuck off. It’s just too much of a pain to set up.
It’s okay Daddy :)
I honestly get it. Apple has been excruciatingly stubborn to adopt RCS.
But they won’t. Because they want users to be pissed off enough to get an iPhone.
That being said, I don’t think it’s worth hating iOS over. Or vise versa, iOS users just being petty and not texting you because you have an Android. Kinda off topic but the internet loves to shit on Apple…
Meanwhile I’m over here with a Galaxy S20, iPhone 11 Pro, MacBook Pro, and a mid range Dell laptop running Windows 10.
Also incredibly off topic, but IMO both Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro are superior to anything you can find on Windows. FL Studio comes close though. I hear Abelton Live is good too.
I’m just saying both platforms do the same things very well, and both platforms do some things better than eachother. Troubleshooting on Mac is a breeze whereas on Windows it’s god awful. The UI on macOS is so much more consistent than Windows.
Windows has better platform support and doesn’t depreciate APIs nearly as much as macOS. (Then again, DirectX 12 dropped support for Windows 7…WHY).
The file explorer on Windows, while not as pretty, gives you much more control over the Finder in macOS. Windows gives you better user control over Disk Management too IMO. And of course, Windows is better for gaming. That might change over the next 5 years though which I am very happy about.
Also, the Control Panel is fucking awesome and I have no idea why Microsoft continues to try and depreciate it for the trashy Settings app. It has everything you need.
Bit of a rant there.
The bright side is that given the open nature of decentralized networks, nobody is forced to use whatever Meta shits out.
I died at the very bottom post
Lemmy is janky, but that’s probably a good thing. Keeps the entitled asses away. I’ve only seen one asshole on this entire site in the last month.
Have you tried growing a new set of eyes?
You trying to tell me you don’t like dog meat?
Pppsh. Everyone knows Encino Man is an accurate representation of a caveman body.
OP is using Internet Explorer
