Nobody can hold the copyright unless it’s deemed to be created by a human. Disney owns the copyright because under US law, corporations are also people, and their employees create the work for Disney.

In the US under federal law only a human being may own copyright over a piece of artwork. Even a monkey that takes its own picture can’t legally own the picture, so neither can an AI. The only thing you can own is the access to the artwork.
10·3 months agoMobilism is about as good as it gets afaik. Just use the same method as torrenting by only downloading from uploaders with a consistent history of good uploads.
Spotify is pretty ominous on its own tbh, with its emotional surveillance and motion tracking now being implemented to sell to 3rd parties. I now get targeted with White Claw advertisements after putting on a sad playlist.

As someone who used to post OC, it’s why I left. Nothing but OF spam bots and pics of pornstars. Reddit is somehow the better option, unfortunately.

I agree with that, but am also limited to being able to afford just a few news subscriptions. Assuming I’m not the exception, it just seems to be counterproductive towards generating discussion in a community for discussing news.
People who can only view a clickbait headline also end up not knowing the context of what others are discussing that may have paid for the subscription, and could further be counterproductive in generating meaningful discussion.
With the archive link posted in the body, that’s not really a paywall anymore. I do appreciate you doing that though!

Being that news communities are there to facilitate discussion, it seems counterproductive to keep people from viewing the article in question. If someone just wanted to read the headlines and not have any discussion, an RSS feed would probably be better.
