  • Nobody wants to see anybody die. All life is precious, all life is mournable. But like, c’mon the Gaza Strip doesn’t have any moral high ground. I’m with you this is horrific. But the situation is an absolute cluster fuck of human rights violations. The only way to speak on the situation with any accuracy is to write a tiny dissertation of qualifiers first. Like any hot take on the Gaza Strip should be 200 words minimum.

  • I mean you can zoom-in on any event and make a moral judgement. Like people say Hiroshima was objectively wrong…but also like ww2 wasn’t ending, future casualties, etc, etc. Every event has a broader context. (I get it might not play as well on social media where little nuggets of altruism get the most traction). It’s not an excuse, people do need to zoom in on one event sometimes. But like the Gaza Strip is definitely not an easy moral slam dunk.

Inflation. It’s caused by printing money—full stop. “Economic easing” is a euphemism for it. It’s very easy to understand: adding money to the supply reduces the value of the existing supply. Fucking nerds in Wow understand this better than most people.

Yet everyday some bi-partisan Econ Professor is paid a small dump truck of (probably printed) money to confuse this very simple issue. Why?

It’s absolutely exhausted to ask someone “why can’t we just print more money” —because inflation. “So printing money causes inflation?” —no. ???
