Go to the barber and ask 'im for the Friar Tuck Special.
I’m just a weird, furry, pan guy (cis he/him). I also have a big, blue username.
Currently on Earth for 8 years ensuring steps to unite humanity and usher us into the galactic civilization just so I can see my boyfriend again.
Go to the barber and ask 'im for the Friar Tuck Special.
Even the small print on a physical disk’s packaging said that.
There used to be a couple… Back when the default skin for Steam was just that ugly green shit? There was a couple different 3rd party clients that offered customizing the look before they added that function officially.
The only one I think might still be relevant is the one centered around filtering shovelware from the store. And I don’t know if you download that, or if it’s just a web client, since it is focused on the store and not much else (I also never used it personally).
you have this harder than paper card
Did they not have plastic in the 1920s?
The cartoons I’ve seen that always had a fat, red-haired king character were very obviously making reference to Henry VIII, who was a king, he was fat, had red hair, and did some silly things.
That’s only a downside if you’re an Amazon executive or shareholder. To a human being, it isn’t.
More money, more problems is just a lie.
The only problem you can have with money that wouldn’t be replaced or superceded by other problems is having bills. If you don’t have money, it’s very easy to not have bills. But then you’d also not have a home or probably anything else, which is a bigger problem than having bills.
I kinda think people from the far past could understand modern concepts if explained in terms they are familiar with and that it is an advanced form of technology made by a human. They’re not unfamiliar with tools or technology. Explaining electricity might still be seen as magic… Shit I know how it works and it still seems pretty magical to me 🤷🏻♂️
It’d be cool if individual communities could have mods to the Lemmy software to do things like having a separated vote counter that would not be used for sorting the posts, but for this community specifically as an example, have “popular?” And “unpopular?” voting that only shows whether or not an Unpopular Opinion is actually unpopular.
Technically this can be done to an instance but that would be a bit extreme to run an entire instance for the sake of 1 community.
Elden Ring is still a stuttery mess on PC and barely hits 60 fps on consoles, even the $700 one, yet it’s beloved.
I have an old ass PC and a PS5 with the game on both and they run smooth as shit unless you’re using raytracing, which literally doesn’t even change the visuals in the game; it just makes it slower.
Stalker 2 is a busted mess. The performance issues have been fixed mostly after 3 patches, but the game itself shits itself once you get to a certain story mission. Literally nothing works beyond that point. The A-Life system does not work, scripted events are all jacked up, IDK if anyone else is getting this but every now and then I have my secondary weapon replaced with a random other weapon that I didn’t even have in my inventory, sound effects don’t play properly, the hud completely disappears, and so many more things that make me glad I’m only playing through GamePass and didn’t actually buy the game. There’s a good game under the mess, somewhere. But they should have just bit the bullet and delayed it another month or two instead of releasing what they did for the holidays.
The reason they sold so many copies though, is because pre-ordering. People bought them before they ever saw the game in action. And games like Stalker 2 are the reason why you shouldn’t pre-order. Because the chances of getting burned by busted-ass shit like this is increasingly more common. Again, because people pre-order the fuck out of games.
I definitely don’t see a fixation of performance lol
The reliance on AI upscaling and frame generation, while the entire game takes up half or your entire SSD shows that optimization is an after thought. These solutions make everything look pretty and smooth, at the cost of how it actually feels to play (input lag up the fucking ass that makes the game feel way worse). Couple that with the myriad of performance issues the majority of AAA games have at launch.
The focus is entirely on making something visually good looking that will sell millions in pre-orders alone.
The real controversial thing would be:
“I like Caillou. It’s the only cartoon I allow my kids to watch.”
I like how every few years, the consensus on whether Friends or Seinfeld was funny flip-flops. When I was in high school? Nobody thought they were funny. In my 20’s, everyone thought they were. Now they’re back to not being funny. In 2030 they’ll be funny again.
I mean… If not for the fact that a felon is about to become President again, I would want some form of justice in the law for the assassin. A slap on the wrist, maybe. A few years in jail; definitely not life or a death sentence.
But that’s just to enforce the rule of law to not embolden others to commit such crimes, even if they could easily be justified. Since that’s not being enforced with an even bigger threat to the rule of law, fuck it. Shit doesn’t matter anymore anyway.
Pizza soup is pretty good tho. It’s just cheese and pepperoni swimming in a pot of grease from the cheese and pepperoni.
I’m sure very smart criminals do exist. The reason you never hear about them, is because they’re actually good and not getting caught. Hell, if you do the crime well enough, nobody will even know a crime took place. If you murdered a person with no friends and no family or anyone else who might miss them, and the body is never found… Nobody would even investigate because nothing would appear to have happened.
At least it’s not a cup of Thames. 🤮
There are more people available on the phone. We’re people. Unless the entire Internet has been replaced with generative AI bots and I’m the last human left… 🤔
1.01 rebalanced the game significantly. Repairs are way cheaper, every payout is doubled or more, prices have been adjusted. Human enemies take just a few rounds to kill, even mutants have had their HP reduced, while the player’s armor has been buffed and the degradation of weapons and armor is now much lower so you’re repairing less.
Wikipedia says bakelite was invented in 1907. But if that’s all they had, yeah; they probably either didn’t know about it or call it plastic.
