I mean I had actually had a conversation a long while ago when I originally fell in love with Annapurna games about my perceived dangers of it being run almost single handedly by a billionaire playing around with her Dad’s money that the level of control she had would make it risky to treat like a legitimate company but they really put the gold star stamp of approval on so many games they made and published.

Honestly this won’t really hurt the billionaire. She has the publishing contracts still and whatever partial finished games were already in development but I really do hope the best for the actual talent and employees.

I really want to see them help push into that more united gaming labor force that the Henry Stickman developers foundation (Outersloth), and other groups are doing to let them actually help games be unique and good.

We need to invest in our citizens, cause suffering struggling people will pick any easy option to try and make themselves feel safe. Its not just education but work and healthcare and community and local events.

I got “unemployed” during Covid and saw everyone bragging about how awesome it was that the federal government was providing extra money and it was like working a good job…

My state let me know they had run out of unemployment insurance several decades ago and I would get just the federal money, reduced down to the state amount, minus the state and federal tax from each check.

Yeah it’s not really surprising. Like the trad wife movement was obviously a mix of things from wanting to be taken care of from overworked women and power tripping from men that feel a lack of control elsewhere in their life and searching for an easy out almost always comes with some big caveats and room for abuse.

Yeah I will say the idea that SLA is a totally fine printing option for general hobbyists really doesn’t do justice to the fact that you are basically doing factory production work in your house that often requires extensive PPE and washing stations when done for business.
