  • I don’t like middle grounds in my packages, what can I say.

Docker containers are treated as immutable and disposable to me, like a boot CD, for each, I write a shell script to generate both a .conf if needed, a docker-compose.yml and run the container.

They’re plug’n’play separate parts to the rest of the OS, while packages are about integrating nicely with the rest of the OS, in a non-snowflakey, non-disruptive manner.

I also hate .conf.d folders and always deleted them. One program, one .conf.

  • You do not need friends to attend seminars no. In first world civilized countries most people snicker behind your back and behind closed doors but they will not actively do anything to break the peace.

Normies will ostracize you for everything that does not fall within extremely rigid highly defined bounds of acceptable, it does not matter if you are nice or not, once you have become the subject of jokes it’s all it’ll ever be. I’ve been on both sides of this equation.

I am neurodivergent and LGBT and I have learned the hard way there is no fitting in with normal people and even if you did - there is no trusting them, it’s best to not concern yourself with them and simply carry on with your work. If you feel like you must have social connections it’s best to find people who are similar.

  • Was banned for saying that it’s not very difficult to self-med on !@adhd@lemmy.world due to “bad advice”, by some overzealous janny. When this guy just shows Dread it’s a-ok though. Literally 1984.

In general self-medicating safely is something us ADHDers should come together around and build a community to share advice on how to do it while minimizing harm. For those of us who are also trans, this is not at all unfamiliar and most trans people I’ve known either self-medicate or used to.
