Loud and stupid are affectionate descriptors from my friends. I also struggle with volume after being too quiet for my early years and overcompensating in the later ones.

I live in the USA and that’s the perspective I can speak from. I can’t claim to know anything about Lithuania’s politics and culture, and I wouldn’t dare try. If I see someone say “in Canada…” it does make me pity them that they couldn’t consider any other country in the world with their insubstantial brains, so I do see where you’re coming from. The Bible explicitly states that women are beneath and subservient to men. Christianity is the dominant religion (at least in America). Politicians face controversy when they aren’t openly Christian. They are guided by their Christian morals when making decisions that impact millions of people. Every single president in American history has been a man. Women couldn’t vote until recently, and more recently lost bodily autonomy. Each and every one of these realities produces male supremacy over women. Patriarchy is very real, and has been for centuries. To deny this is to demonstrate ignorance.

I mostly agree with your sentiment, except dystopias have people fight against them all the time. Not as boring, but still dystopian.

I’ve got ancient blogs and comments left on ebaumsworld from when the internet and I were still children. Every now and again I like to revisit the site and see the ghosts of the era. It’s probably been 5 or so years since my last visit. It’s a particular feeling for sure.
