HE SAID “YOUR SWEET, SWEET BALLOON KNOT. FOREVER, TAKING THAT HOT DEMON GEL. ASK KAGE.”
Lololololololol. No, they do not. I support a product that gets updated roughly quarterly, and the number of times people complain about their vulnerability scanner finding something when they’re on a 4 year old version is too damn high.
Such a weird thing to say … when I was little ('70s) it was not uncommon for kids to swim nude, we didn’t care… Any adults who are ogling kids aren’t going to stop just because of one layer of clothing.
I’ve worked a lot of different jobs over the years, some well in my skill set, some well outside, and if there’s one thing I’ve noticed, it’s that with very few exceptions, knowledge and skills matter very little, what matters most is sucking up to the boss, a skill I am exceedingly bad at. Interestingly enough, one of the jobs where skill mattered most was construction, even when I worked for my uncle, he barely cut me any breaks. He once said “you hammer like old people fuck”. Not to mention the number of times he yelled at me because I was shit with a tape measure. “Cut it 3 times and it’s still too short”. Yeah nepotism didn’t help me there.
I live in a suburb to the east of Phoenix. I wouldn’t even consider a job on the west side. Nothing to do with Europe, just the reality of a large city.
Yeah, letting it gas out works for the chlorine taste, but it still tastes funky, likely due to minerals so I’m fine with my RO.
Oh I have RO, one of the first things I put in when I bought the house, and already had to replace it once, the last one took really obscure filters that were hard to find, it ended up being simpler to replace the thing with one that took more common replacement filters. And I’ve tried more ordinary filters, it makes it better, but it still tastes funky, I prefer RO.
I live in the Phoenix area. Our tap water won’t kill you, but it tastes nasty. That’s because aside from the hardness, it’s so full of chlorine to kill the bacteria, amoebas, and fungus that might kill you otherwise, it’s like drinking swimming pool water. Anyone who can afford it has a reverse osmosis filter for drinking water. Anyone who can’t afford it buys bottled water, which is probably why they can’t afford the filter…
Fill it with wee!
What I’d really like to see is more cycling infrastructure… But in this climate, that’s less likely to happen than public transportation. But hey, we’re improving that, we have light rail that runs… On the streets.
It’s not though. At least in my jurisdiction, a traffic ticket can’t be acted on unless it’s given in person - so in the case of photo enforcement, you just don’t respond. Then it’s just a matter of dodging the process server, if they even bother hiring one, which they often won’t when there’s plenty of low hanging fruit.
Fair enough, I can get behind that.
How does it encourage dangerous driving when it actively punishes dangerous driving?
Because the people who habitually drive badly find out pretty quickly how to game the system and not face the consequences, and/or consider the fines part of the cost of driving how they want. Fines don’t stop bad behavior, they just put a price on it.
Before you dismiss me by saying I just want to get away with speeding, consider that it’s easy to fight a ticket from a camera- in most cases, you just don’t respond and it goes away, though of course that varies with jurisdiction. If I wanted to get away with dangerous driving, I’d be all for replacing cops with cameras.
15mph on freeways, 1mph on city streets. Go!
underpasses flood
I’m in the Phoenix area, while that can happen, it’s a rare occurrence.
overpasses freeze.
Even rarer.
Really it all comes down to cost- we spend millions on adding more lanes to highways, but very little on local connecting roads… Why spend anything to fix a problem when we can profit from the problem?
Eh, they’re generally safer. They do tend to increase number of accidents, but because they force you to slow down and merge, they’re generally minor. More fender benders, fewer fatal wrecks, isn’t that a good thing?
While I hate photo enforcement as much as the next guy, this is a piss poor argument against it. Have you never been fucked over by a lying cop? I have. Camera tickets are way easier to fight.
Because they’re not just taking a picture when triggered - they stream full motion video back to HQ full time. That should tell you how much money is up for grabs.
No shit?
