I know I’m a moron but isn’t this just purely visual? Like wouldn’t this be the same as doing it on the ground? Still looks really cool regardless but as far as degree of difficulty isn’t this just pretty much as hard as doing it anywhere else? I know this is extraordinarily difficult stuff anyways and it’s still impressive, I just don’t really get the point of the train other than just kinda looking neat cause of the frame of reference.
I was shopping for daycare trying to kinda get a financial picture of how we could swing it not too long ago and the cheapest daycare I could find came out to about twice my mortgage lol. So I guess I either hit the lottery so I don’t have to use daycare or I just don’t have kids
I had a huge scholarship of about 70% that I was incredibly proud of. I STILL came out with debt about 670% more than my father without any assistance at all. And that’s adjusted for inflation too! I’m ancient now so the price I paid is way cheaper than the poor bastards now. It’s insanity.
Do you honestly think, in the history of humankind, there’s never been someone brilliant with super low confidence? Hell, even competent with uncertainty counts as imposter syndrome.
I know countless people that are amazing at something but are super unsure of themselves or don’t believe the product of their work is that good.

Fidias just got elected to the European parliament in Cypress. If you are lucky enough to not know who that is all you have to know is he is a very annoying YouTuber as of… well now still. Its inevitable that we’ll have a Mr. Beast type presidential candidate pretty soon. I have zero doubt.
I absolutely love horror movies and have a long list of fantastic ones but not very many of them actually scared me. Most of them have been named already but two I didn’t see were The Babadook (2014) and surprisingly a Netflix movie called His House (2020) was actually awesome. One of my favorites in the last few years.
I mean I’d argue there’s some serious room to help out the consumer since the price of cars has been outpacing inflation pretty handily since around 2014 (and been beating it into a bloody pulp since 2020). There is some insanely obvious price gouging going on when the average price of a new car in 2024 is over 49k. There is room for BOTH higher wages and at least semi reasonable car prices for the American consumer. In my eyes if you clearly aren’t willing to help me as an everyday clearly struggling American today, then goooo right ahead and kiss my ass as I buy foreign if it’s cheaper.
It’s like catching a little kid in a lie and they just keep on making up more and more hilarious crap to cover the initial lie. Each lie builds on itself requiring a bigger, more ridiculous lie to cover it up and before you know it, you went from who ate the missing yogurt to now the sky is a glass dome, the sun is a giant flashlight that the government turns on and off and the moon only glows because of magical glow worms that live on its surface
This is such a bummer to hear. That makes sense because I have definitely not been working on high end phones. I’ve only worked on one where I needed to remove the back glass (which was a bitch until I figured it out!) but once I popped it open it wasn’t too bad. Sounds like things are getting worse and maybe won’t get better for a bit…
I’m curious, do you ever see any type of DRM or software locks if you replace any components? I’m just a weekend warrior so I don’t work on a ton but I’ve tried to help out a friend or two by replacing components and there’s been a few times it seems like everything is in place but the phone just won’t allow the replaced components. I just assumed I messed something up but I’ve heard of some fishy business where phones won’t allow aftermarket components on some parts of the phone (I’ve mainly only had this issue dealing with switching out camera components)
I mean they’re still this “easy” for the most part. Obviously some are harder than others but I’ve changed plenty of post 2020 phones and they’re very similar to this. I would strongly argue that it should absolutely be waaaaay easier to do tho. I’ve only changed so many because it’s too difficult for most people and they know I can.
It’s ridiculous how hard they’ve made these damn things to repair and it pisses me off that it’s even legal. We’re slooooowly making headway in the right to repair department but it’s really just kind of clawing back to where we were than actual progress.
I honestly do not believe there is a limit so long as there is money to be made by ignoring that they are an issue.

I’ve had the ”if you had infinite money" discussion with tons of people and am absolutely floored at the number of people that say they would get a job just to have something to do or to keep from getting bored. I’m like dude I have .003% of the time I want to do all the dumb shit I want to do. I could never in a million years imagine myself being like “yooo I am soooo bored having unlimited free time and money. I’m gonna go apply at the gas station”
This is wild haha I wonder if it was just someone trying to piss off the studios by popping that in there for free or something? I guess that way it’s guaranteed to never have ads for anyone, ad blocker or not.
This gets my vote. Runs in my family and I’ve seen it first hand a ton of times by now. It is absolutely heart wrenchingly terrible. Not looking forward to that one bit.

The number of times I’ve basically seen this exact same thing happen in history is crazy. It’ll be something like “Well ole Bill Jesterbong discovered the Gilded Anusbangle in August of 1827 on the island of Nebraska. Naturally, he built a hide in a tall fir tree and camped in it for 3 weeks straight shooting and killing all 1382 Gilded Anusbangles to see if their hide could be useful or if they were tasty. Turns out they were not. The Gilded Anusbangle is now extinct.”
