Not American but the US had an extremely high tax rate on the rich for most of its prosperous years. It was only recent removed and you now have massive wealth inequality

So far my favourite is Memmy but I really like Wefwef too
This gets more absurd every new story lol
Should have used the IOS Photo App marker instead
Honestly I’m sure a lot (or at least some) of the reddit employees who have been there for longer feel the same way as we do. I can imagine if you joined back when reddit was open source or even shortly after, seeing reddit go down this path would be upsetting.
I know if my company decided to screw over our users this badly, my morale would be non existant. Most people don’t have that much loyalty to their companies and reddit would be no different
The great thing about that is you can often unlock the FPS and upscale to 4K! I played through the original demon’s souls on rpcs3 and it was great
I’m actually surprised they can’t get more WhatsApp data considering it’s Facebook. I know WhatsApp’s thing is encryption but… It’s Facebook
Even if it IS profitable in the first quarter, they’ll kill it anyway. It seems like Google just gets bored of products and moves onto a new thing
It’s pretty nice if you’re into programming articles! I wouldn’t say it’s a full reddit replacement since it’s more geared to programmers, similar to hacker news but I think it’s worth having around. There’s also a decent mobile app for iOS called Claw
Thank you so much! Do you want a lobste.rs invite?
I’d also love an invite as well if anyone has one. I can return the favour with an invite to lobste.rs :)
It’d be hilarious to see them try to hand your own personal page to a random other person to moderate. It makes no sense
These spam bots wouldn’t list themselves as bots so that wouldn’t work
I can definitely see something like that being made as ActivityPub builds up steam
You can start with smaller pieces of the app! Like one thing you can do is to try learning a bit of Python and play around by making simple requests to a Lemmy API to print off a list of posts from the front page.
For learning I’d recommend checking out Codecademy. I got my start with programming there like 10 years ago and I feel like I owe a lot to the website. They have fully interactive tutorials and give you a great starting point.
Good luck! :)
Do you have programming experience? I can’t tell from your post if you’re looking for API resources or general programming resources. If it’s your first time programming, making an app like that might be a bit of an overwhelming first project unfortunately
This is what I switched to (and what I’m replying through), and I really like it. Definitely still needs more pollish but it’s a lot more fleshed out
I’m loving this non stop coverage of the blackout. It can’t be a good luck for investors interested in reddit
It’s not exactly the same but my city has “robot pizza machines” that are basically glorified vending machines with pizza that’s cooked daily and reheated on demand. It works really well for the company because they specifically put the machines in neighbourhoods where people go to drink.
I think as far as automated pizza goes, that’s the best way to do it.
I’m not sure if it’s exactly what you need but I know sonarr (shows) and radarr (movies) can scan added media and do upgrades
