Yeah well my steam deck will survive 2025 unless I break it. It’s a proper nifty little machine, so glad I bought it. I’ve not done any gaming since i had a PS2 so there’s loads of games to catch up on. Recently finished bioshock, wow. I’ve got a long list of older games, but I’ve tried a couple of newer things. Yeah, I’ve made that mistake too. Thing is, if you really mean it then waiting until they say those words to you first kinda feels dishonest and manipulative. Like, if you’re feeling that crazy feeling it makes you want them to know exactly how you feel and be able to give informed consent to falling in love. You want them to know how you feel because you don’t want to be intense and creepy when they maybe think it’s just a fling. You want you words to maybe unlock part of them that feels the same way.

A good suggestion is to not say it during or right after sex in a new relationship.

So yeah, I’ve fucked up too by saying ‘i love you’. But I’ve also said it first and started a relationship that was maybe the best I’ve had.

I dunno, I guess I think that when you love someone honesty is the best policy. It won’t always work out and when it fucks up you’ll be hurting - but you’ll at least know you were being open, not hiding stuff.

It seems very cool at the time. First game I remember spending lots of time on was probably Jet Set Willy, in the mid 80s. But yeah, some kids were playing but mostly only those who’s parents had computers. They were expensive and we weren’t well off at all, someone at church lent us one because I got into coding. But you’re right, it was probably around 10%. I would expect that figure to be higher amongst families with more money though probably not much higher.

I’m almost fifty, started gaming when I was a kid on Sinclair spectrum and BBC computers. Some of the figure is probably people who got into gaming later in life but some is just people who started early and kept going.

It took longer for Darwin’s theories to be generally accepted, though, and somehow some people still won’t acknowledge them.
