I was in M2-XFE. That whole experience certainly taught a lot about the power of narrative and propaganda. And the later blockade showed what leadership failures look like.

As a software dev, I don’t think there really is a better way. One thing you could do to avoid this is to install a second drive and boot to completely different OSes. You could boot to a Linux drive for personal stuff, and only use Windows for gaming.
These gaming companies are pretty aware that they go bankrupt if they either get a reputation for abusing anti-chrst data OR are full of cheaters. They have some incentive to use data ethically. But it’s still a good thing to keep an eye on.

Maybe, but I don’t think it is. Enshittification is a direct result of our tax policy that encourages cashing out, only looks at the short term, and requires constant growth.
There was a time when companies built a reputation and held onto it for a hundred years. We could go back to that.

You do have to turn off battery saver for the background process. Phones tend to not like background processes. That would cause the behavior you’re seeing.
Settings > Apps > App battery usage > Immich > Set to “unrestricted”
Also I have mine set to a ten minute delay, maybe that’s why I haven’t noticed. Maybe try adding a small delay to the load?

Immich is working pretty well for me. Even the search does a decent job of recognizing the things in the pictures.
I’m not sure what Google photos has that Immich doesn’t, and I’ve been using Google photos for years.
I’m already telling people to get out of Florida*. I expect multiple Katrina-level events over the next 15 years. “Florida refugees” is going to become a common phrase.
Orlando might be more likely to survive than Miami or Tampa, but do you really want to be in the city surrounded by devastation?
We, as humans, seem to have lost the ability to plan more than 20 years into the future. Florida is still building in areas that are going to be crushed, and the only reaction is from insurance companies.
We’re not trying to prevent it. We’re not building any kind of defenses or contingency plans. We’re not encouraging people to move out. We’re not preventing people from moving in. In fact, we’re building new and encouraging people to move IN to Florida. It’s full on head in sand.
Is she just starting college? A relationship with someone who’s not at her school might be rough for her. I’d be forever disappointed if I didn’t have those life experiences.
It’s both. Even terrible people with something to lose are less likely to throw it all away.
If this guy makes $35k a year at dollar general, he probably doesn’t go on a murder spree.
But you could also just not be an asshole. Why go after random people instead of someone who actually helps cause the bullshit?
