  • People on their phones while driving. Aside from the danger it poses, I have been stuck at a light behind someone who is obviously scrolling on their phone and then doesn’t realize the light has turned green. Sometime this lasts for 10-20 seconds, which is a lifetime when trying to efficiently move through a series of stop lights. I’m not an aggressive horn honker, and I feel like an asshole if I have to use it. But if you are fucking with the flow of traffic you deserve it.

  • Autocorrect has gotten significantly worse for me recently. I used to be pretty well adjusted to my phone and know which words I did not need to capitalize/spell correctly because autocorrect would do it for me. Now, it feels like it is all over the place. It also does not seem to acknowledge commonly used proper nouns anymore. I type my brother’s name all the time, yet it will autocorrect to the same name witn different spelling.

  • I think it is funny because, in reality, these different features would not appear in the world right next to one another. This map is a dramatization of geological features with no variation or nuance that naturally occurs. But for video games, it is easier to differentiate areas with these clear geological differences so the player can be like, “Oh yes, the island town.” Or “it’s close to the mountain” It’s just an acknowlegdment if how so many video games have done the same strange thing in order to streamline gameplay.

  • I think for the chronically online crowd, it seems more obvious that this is an ill-advised attempt at being socially relevant. I would have quickly assumed it was a bunch of kids filming themselves voting so they can put the “Here’s falling down at the party” song in the background.

But it’s easy to forget that a lot of people are not on social media or very little of what is trending trickles down to them. In that case, the ghost outfits have to be taken in the context of a GA poll location…so the white sheets aren’t great. But it still looks like a ghost and not a klansman. If that was someone attempt at intidimation it would be pretty laughable.

  • I forgot to add a /s after that sentence. I know teachers are severely understaffed and underfunded. This 4 day workweek seems like it would be wonderful with the exception of the people deemed too vital not to work. Just like during covid, some people will have a better time being paid to stay home, and others will have to continue working for the same pay. The burden would certainly fall on teachers, doctors, nurses, construction workers, maintenance personnel, and any other job that has a short supply of workers and high demand. Before switching to this system, our society would need to consider how to handle this problem.
