1·8 months agoThe barrier to entry is a huge concern on whether something should be considered a monopoly or not. Extracting and refining oil is nowhere near the same as selling your videogame online. Today the barrier of entry for digital distribution incredibly low.
75% is not “basically a monopoly”, especially not when there are so many other ways to buy and sell games. Plenty of games have been incredibly successful without ever being on Steam.
Just don’t buy them lol
There are so many games without microtransactions you could only play games that were released prior to 2024 and you’d be occupied your whole life.
One went bankrupt, many others made bank during the event aswell as during the delusion that followed. I can assure you that big money was the ultimate winner in all of this.

Way would you even compare this to Afghanistan, there are no boots on the ground, no one is going to invade Yemen, no one is being “baited” into anything here.
