Misleading title by propaganda pushing “news” sub. It’s funny that I can often know before checking whether or not a post is “world news” just by the title

Literally EVERY TIME it’s mentioned, someone assumes that a thing being a social construct means we should erase it.

That’s because that’s EXACTLY how you make it sound.

Calling things a social construct is a social construct. Leave LSD to the adults please.

Which is why it’s dumb to try to negate a thing like crime by saying it’s a social construct. The language we are using to talk about it being a social construct is a social construct. Literally YOU are a social construct, but here you are, worried about “wage theft” which is also a social construct. So do things being a social construct matter or not because if not, lets stop trying to negate anything we don’t like by calling it a social construct, and if so lets apply it evenly and take it to it’s logical conclusion. I would say “reject modernity, embrace monkee” but rejection, modernity, embracement, and monkee are all social constructs.

Crime is a social construct = wage theft is a social construct, and according to the law of internet arguments something being a social construct means it doesn’t matter and/or it’s dumb to complain about it, so don’t worry, it’s all fine.

Palestine is trying to exterminate Jews. Full stop. Israel is defending it’s very existence and that of the people who live there. The only reason it isn’t proportional is because they have a better military, not because Hamas is showing restraint due to some kind of moral high ground. Stop with the both sides bullshit. One side are terrorist , the other side are defending themselves. The terrorists just happen to be weaker in this situation, that doesn’t excuse them for being terrorists.

It’s almost like Hamas shouldn’t go around attacking Israel without expecting retaliation. It isn’t the fault of Israel for having a better military.

That’s because Hamas is a terrorist organization with the goal of exterminating Jews. The founding documents of Palestine calls for the killing of Jews and repurposing any land they occupied for setting up a Sharia caliphate. No matter how many times you falsely call it apartheid, that doesn’t change. They want to kill all Jews.

The correct answer is that Hamas purposely launches these attacks from city block, schools, hospitals, etc which is literally a war crime so when there is retaliation they can cry foul. Don’t believe terrorist apologist.

I dropped reddit years ago. I’m currently on lemmy. So I didn’t drop reddit for lemmy, but I did used to use reddit and am now a user here.

I’ve tried many of the alternatives but most of them were ended up pretty bad. Lemmy shows promise but is pretty reddit-y and I think over time it’s basically going to become a big circle-jerk just like reddit. It’s decent-ish for now though.
