They convince the rubes that you can vote in a different, more “traditional” culture than the one you currently disagree with despite not doing anything to move back to the economic conditions that made the “previous” culture possible in the first place.
It works to pull culturally regressive, economically movable morons into the coalition. But since voting out a culture is basically not possible because culture isn’t created by government in the first place, they’ll quickly learn that the PC lingo, “cancel culture”, #metooism, and “wokeness” still remain. Or they would learn that if they weren’t completely braindead and incapable of analyzing how their actions do or do not affect things.
Every dumb hack comedian has mixed themselves up with Lenny Bruce.
In no way does that link prove that the state has a monopoly on violence. Are we just pasting random Wikipedia articles and pretending that’s an argument now?
Ever heard of the castle doctrine?
That’s just one example. Maybe next time you attend libertarian idiot 101 you should do it with a bit of skepticism instead of immediately accepting everything they say without evidence.
That’s actually libertarian idiot 101, different class, held in the garage of a disheveled rancher flying a gadsden flag.
The “American experiment” as far as I am aware is one of “self-governance”.
It arguably has never been tried in earnest since the founding of this country, at very least failed entirely in 2016 with Russia’s influence and the zero consequences that arose from that, and was likely dealt a critical blow by the citizens united decision which all but guaranteed that rich people would decide our elections for us in the future.
We voted ourselves into what I’m now pretty convinced is an unshakable oligarchy. You’ll get what the rich, international oligarchs want you to have and nothing else. They’ve built bunkers in New Zealand and the Ozarks for when the consequences come knocking at their doors.
It’s already popular enough to be a meme scroll substitute for Reddit so I’m good.

OMG you guys, are we getting poor or something?!
Shit that’s so complicated that there’s not enough red yarn in the world to connect it together.
Sounds exactly like the type of software an incompetent software engineer spits out.
Spray them down with microplastics, unnatural dyes, and hazardous chemicals.
Again not every policy has to be reversed in order to start fixing the damage, and not every policy needs to be reversed in general.
This discussion was a fruitless flat circle that nobody else will read anyway. Have a good one.
Reminder of when and why I “entered the chat”:
It seems the GOP can make things plenty worse in a hell of a hurry, but when it comes to righting the wrongs, it’s all too hard.
The point – that you’ve largely conceded above but had to do some kind of interpretive dance first – is that “righting the wrongs” is often harder than making things worse is in a great many circumstances and that’s why they’re able to do it so quickly.
It’s not “all too hard” sarcastically like you seemed to be implying. It’s “all too hard” sincerely and in reality.
I’m sure Biden kept some of Trump’s policies in place, but he didn’t keep in place “take all the kids, break up every family” and then send out his henchmen to go on TV and say “whomp, whomp” when questioned about it.
There are actual situations happening pertaining to immigration that the administration has to handle.
Despite the right-wing bullshit, “the Biden-Harris administration” 🙄 is definitely not an “open borders” administration. I would argue that “open borders” policies are not particularly tenable in the first place.
Keeping in place some policies Trump laid out some of the time does not prevent an administration from having a better stance overall on immigration, nor does it prevent them from at least trying to clean up some of the damage.
In other words, no, you don’t have to repeal every single Trump policy in a public EO signing ceremony as a first order of business in order to fix anything.
The only fast food I enjoyed in recent memory was Pizza Hut. During some scare about MSG they removed all of the MSG and I ordered it a time or two after that and it was nearly inedible.
I suspect similar things happened with other types of fast food. I think there’s a flanderization effect happening with a lot of it. The same is definitively not the case for things like pizza in general, as I can order from my local NY-style pizza place and pizza is still just as good as it ever was.
All that is to say it wouldn’t surprise me at all if fast food was objectively shittier across a number of different metrics.
