Hi friend, I’m Bob from Ohio (or maybe Florida!). Anyway, I promise there’s nothing to worry about… other than the billions of human flesh eating illegal immigrants flooding across the border to torture your family for their sadistic pleasure. Just vote for Trump and everything will be fine!

As with many things, its complex. A couple reasons:

• Propaganda on social media uses immigration as a wedge issue to divide people. For example, the Kremlin wants to get people angry about immigration AND angry about people trying to stop immigration. “They’re coming to eat your pets” and “anti-immigrant peoppe are all hateful racists”
• The planet is overpopulated. We’re running out of land and resources, and that makes people worried and protective of their territory.

Circular… you have to assume you exist in the first place for this to work.

Would be interesting to see reflective shades on large, glass-facade buildings to augment HVAC systems.

Shades open in the winter to cut waste from heating, then down in the summer to keep it cool.

Lucky for us humanity excels at moderation and responsible use of technology, right?

How so? I’ve always just assumed that kind of extremely dense urban construction was better environmentally. One big system to manage HVAC, economies of scale when building it, tiny actual footprint relative to usable space, etc.
