You could make seperate accounts for different topics. Like make one account for memes, one for technology, one for news/politics, one for educational purposes etc etc.

Pretty much every Lemmy app lets you login with multiple accounts at once. Wefwef does that too, if you prefer websites over native apps.

That makes seperating your feeds a more clean experience. That’s how I do it for Youtube example.

If I open Youtube, because I want to listen to music in the background, I don’t want to get distracted by memes, news, vlogs, gaming stuff etc. That’s why I log in with my Music account where I only subscribe to musicians. This gives me a clean feed and the algorithm works in my favor to keep me at the topic at hand.

It’s hard to remember song names, because most EDM tracks are non-lyrical.

For example in dubstep, most trends age poorly.

Skrillex- inspired stuff or “Zomboy - Terror Squad” copycats sound really oversaturated nowadays. Even “hip and cool” commercials made some bootleg versions of “Ruffneck Bass” and “Equinox” from Skrillex.

Also samples and sound design from many EDM tracks 10+ years ago feel really unoriginal from a modern listener’s perspective.

There are obviously also a lot of exeptions. Old stuff from “Tha Trickaz”, “Savant”, “Xilent” etc etc all still hold up imo.

Outside of modern EDM subgenres I think most Eurobeat, old Disco, Techno and House stuff don’t sound as exciting and crazy as they did back then.

My taste in music mostly stayed the same since childhood. I just like more genres now.

I am really into EDM, old EDM songs from popular subgenres oftentimes feel “outdated” in a sense.

For non-EDM enjoyers, its all beeps and boops anyways tho.

iMessage also runs on data/wifi. So I don’t think, this is really about affordable data and more just stubborness from the Android side.

The biggest feature that WhatsApp and Signal provide over RCS, is the fact that you can use them on iOS.

Right now RCS in practise is just another walled garden, that not every phone with every carrier can join.

Apple will likely never implement RCS, especially not right now where the best RCS experience is reliant on Google servers and propietary Google extensions.

Only government intervention could force Apple’s hand. But I don’t believe the EU will implement such a law in the next 10 years. America, where this issue actually matters, probably not even in 20 years.

I doubt that even Google will stick to RCS to the bitter end. They had significantly more power over XMPP, but they abandoned it anyway for some in-house propietary protocol. Who says history will not repeat itself?

Yeah blocking words like reddit, lemmy, fediverse and threads could probably give you more original content.

Blocking political buzzwords would be probably great for mental health reasons.

Horror never really faced me, but the Lavender Town urban legend, Squidward’s Suicide and Sonic.exe all scared me shitless to the point, that these made more religious.

Was Signal a bad experience for you?

I just don’t see it happening. There is already fragmentation between each carriers’ implementation of RCS. It is so bad that Google made their own servers for hosting RCS for Google Messages users.

This results in a situation where RCS messages send by Google Messages to another user of Google Messages have more features like e2ee which are not available if you use another app. RCS messages from Samsung’s app would for example not have this feature.

iMessage itself also has more features than RCS. Built in e2ee would be a big one, and aome other more vain ones. I am sure Apple could add even more features, until the EU will finally mandate RCS compatibility for everyone in 10 years.

RCS is just a slight upgrade of green bubble SMS, something like Signal or even WhatsApp would still be superior.

RCS is just a shit protocol, outdated before even arrival.

American Android users are part of the problem, because they refuse to use messenger apps and cling onto SMS as well

WhatsApp is more secure than SMS, but that is not a huge achievement. Signal probably is the best messenger that is both very secure and easy to use.

Some people prefer messenger platforms to SMS, because the default SMS apps on Apple and Android intentionally make cross-platform communication worse.

Messenger platforms on the other hand are more consistent and behave the same on every device.

Problem are the Android users as well that refuse to adopt messaging apps just as much.

Standard protocol on Android is SMS as well. RCS behaves differently from carrier to carrier and many Android phones still don’t support it by default.

Even if RCS worked perfectly fine, if Apple doesn’t want to use it, than RCS is just as worthless as iMessage, when it comes to cross-platform communication.

I am devastated. At least MSN Messenger will never disappear.

Does your friend group have no group chat? SMS does not have a group chat feature I think, right?

Usually group chats and media sharing are the features that bring people over to messengers.

Switching platforms to something more convenient for everyone makes sense.

Breaking your friendship, because your friend does not use the same messaging solution as you seems like some weirdass reality tv tier plot line.

That being said, even I as a filthy Android user can not imagine to ever use these “green bubble” SMS texts. If someone were to send me a SMS, I would rather call them and claim that these SMS/iMessage texts cost a lot of money to send and to receive with my data plan and make them change to some other messenger app.

Signal, Discord, WhatsApp, fucking Yahoo Messenger, I do not care.

I would even consider to get some AirMessage setup for this, just to avoid to ever being forced to send some goofy ass SMS.

RCS is still a downgrade to whatever propietary protocol Apple is using. Last time I checked, Google Messages was the only publicly available app that implemented RCS 100% correctly. I don’t think RCS will be the future, RCS for me seems to be some elaborate attempt from Google to troll Apple epicly.

Honestly whenever it comes to messaging, Google seems to revert from a world-leading tech company to some schizophrenic crackhouse without any plans for the future. They have published at least 30 messaging apps that are all shitty in their own unique way.
