AI image upscaleing isn’t something I would associate with being energy efficient or fast. I wonder how that’s supposed to work?

That sounds like a good way to get their employees shot.
If you want rechargeable batteries, just put some eneloop batteries (or some of the cheaper, rebranded ones) in the remote. They are not like the old NiMH batteries, they hold a charge for a years.
I certainly don’t want a remote that I have to throw out in a few years because the non-replaceable lithium battery wore out.
If you are just self hosting for your own use, just stick with letsencrypt or self signed certificates.
The paid certificates are for businesses where the users need to trust the certificate. They usually come with warranties and identity verification, which is important if you are accepting payments through your website, but it’s just a waste of money for personal use.
The music can be copied to new hard drives without any loss in quality, so why are they leaving their only copy on 30 year old hard drives?
BSD works great on my firewall, but I’m certainly not going to run it on my desktop. The hardware and software support just isn’t there yet.
Used cars are going to get much more valuable with all the enshitified crap they keep putting in new cars.
The easiest way to get lossless music is to buy a CD and rip it. Of course you can always sail the high seas too. 🏴☠️
I’m surprised they didn’t put a time limit on the storage since they are not a file hosting platform.
There is potting compound with high thermal conductivity for things that produce a lot of heat. A YubiKey hardly uses any power, so heat should not be an issue.
The main downsides of potting are that it makes repair practically impossible and it can add a lot of weight if there is a large volume to be filled.
Encasing the circuit board in epoxy. It makes it very difficult to access components without destroying it. It’s also great for water proofing and increasing the mechanical robustness.
For the price they charge, they should be made so that opening the case will destroy the contents. They could have at least potted them.
I would be worried about water getting into the voids in the infill. You would probably have to fiberglass it to make it actually usable.
Streaming sites are the source of the TV torrents until the season is over and the bluray is released.
AV1 is really only practical for content that has a high quality source like a bluray release. Most streaming sites aren’t using AV1 yet, so anything from them would have to be transcoded. Transcoding a low bitrate source to another format will cause a loss in quality. It’s not really worth it unless you want really small files to watch on your phone.
AV1 hardware acceleration is becoming fairly common, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the streaming sites start switching to it soon.
Donate to FOSS developers if you find the software useful, but don’t give a cent to big tech companies.
The SD card probably crapped out because someone didn’t know how to make it read only.
Modern games are not going to run well. Look for a Thinkpad with a Thunderbolt 3 port (make sure it actually has 4 PCIe lanes, some only have 2) and use an eGPU. Retro games will run fine on integrated graphics though.
It doesn’t even matter if it’s a trusted seller. Amazon puts their returned items back with the new products and they stock the items from every seller together. You can have 10 sellers with a genuine item and 1 with a counterfeit item and have a chance of getting the counterfeit item from any of them because they all share the same stock.
You can get rid of the certificate errors by adding your CA to Firefox. Just make sure you keep the private key secure.
