first well known work after 1970
The Martian Chronicles was published in 1950, Fahrenheit 453 in 1953
I had the same experience with Hedgewars, but I can’t really say why it doesn’t click like Worms for me.
Battle for Wesnoth - a turn based tactics game in a fantasy setting. It’s also available on Steam and itch.io. Coincidentally, version 1.18.0 was released yesterday.
“women” feels weird for a lot of English speakers
Why does it feel weird? (not a native speaker here)
“But why? It both has to do with computers!” - literally a project manager at my current software project.
Mastodon is written in Ruby. Nowhere near as big as Facebook or the ML field yet
FTFY ;)
Pro tip: you can actually get organized in a union and strike just to get more money, no need for AI or getting fired. CEOs hate this trick!
I quoted the IDF spokesperson
You didn’t quote the spokesperson. You quoted the article that paraphrased the spokesperson. And that the whole situation, in which three people died, was summed up in one sentence didn’t make you wonder if you actually know all the details needed to pass judgement, instead you are absolutely sure that what happened confirms your already made up opinion.
the IDF, who doesn’t have a great track record with honesty
There is exactly no one denying this. That doesn’t mean that everything they say is a lie though, as that would make them very bad liars.
Your just making shit up
I’m making shit up, but I’m presenting it as hypotheticals. You are making shit up and presenting it as facts.
Even your made up scenarios, what rules of engagement would allow soilders to fire on unnarmed people just because they were running?
Notice how your quote of “the spokesperson” didn’t even say they that they were acting within the rules of engagement? And how you left out the “towards them” bit (which seems relevant to me in a conflict that sees suicide bombing)?
edit: according to another news source they were killed during combat https://www.jta.org/2023/12/15/israel/israeli-forces-mistakenly-kill-3-hostages-during-fighting-in-gaza-idf-says
Or they were just running at them, maybe not shouting so as to not draw attention from Hamas. Or maybe they weren’t shouting because they were out of breath. Or perhaps they were shouting, but in a loud/distracting environment (e.g. a war or a big city) and the soldiers didn’t see them. Or maybe it was as you say. I don’t know, I’ve never been in a war zone and/or hostage situation, and I certainly didn’t see this situation. But apparently you were, because how else could you be so sure what happened? So, I’m glad you made it out alive <3

The bot fails to present both sides of the argument.
Yeah, a blog called “Electronic Intifada” sounds like trustworthy news source in this matter…
Source?
Thanks. So Israel handed out work permits and “allowed suitcases holding millions in Qatari cash to enter Gaza through its crossings since 2018, in order to maintain its fragile ceasefire with the Hamas”.
That’s sounds a bit different from “Netanyahu didn’t just let the attacks happen, we also know he funded Hamas, and has wanted the attack to use as casus belli so he could do some fucked up war crimes of his own.”
I’m not denying that he’s employing a “divide and conquer” strategy, that a lot of his doing is making the conflict worse, that’s he’s using the opportunity to do a lot of damage etc. But it’s not that he funded Hamas because he wanted the attack to happen (at least the article doesn’t prove that).
Netanyahu didn’t just let the attacks happen, we also know he funded Hamas
Can we have a source for that?
unfit for western society. I don’t care if they rot in prison or on a psych ward for mentally ill people they just should never be allowed back into society
Because people never change, especially 14 year olds. /s
I would never rely on the opinion of my boss when the question is what my rights are. They’re usually not a lawyer and their interests are often contrary to mine.
Yeah, you’re right, technically it’s not a “diff”, it’s the changed files.
I don’t think this technical detail has any consequences for the general mental model of Git though - as evidenced by the fact that I have been using Git for years without knowing this detail, and without any problems.
IMO the problem for developers is that they have to provide general solutions, so they have to cover each case all the time instead of just a singular case at a time.
