I hope they are. I just don’t trust corporations/governments to take the major and expensive steps required before it’s too late, and I have a hard time seeing past that. Individuals can only do so much.

I don’t have kids of my own, and don’t plan to. I often wonder what kind of world my sisters children will grow up in.
People don’t think pot is addictive because it’s not chemically addictive, like nicotine or alcohol are. Those things actually change your body chemistry, and your system becomes reliant on them.
Pot doesn’t do that, but it can definitely be psychologically addictive . Virtually anything can be psychologically addictive, like video games or watching TV. If you feel the need to take a few bong hits every hour of every day, or if your desire to get high interferes with your responsibilities, then yeah, you’re probably psychologically addicted. Get help.
Getting wasted every once in a while is probably okay, though. People need to make sure they’re not like one of those idiots I knew in college, who insisted they drove better when high. They didn’t, and neither does anyone else.
I didn’t have anything in writing. That’s what stopped me from taking it further. You’re completely right, though.
Since the answer is unknowable, you might as well assume the best for yourself. Imagine that the job would have sucked anyway.
For example, I once interviewed for a job, was accepted, then showed up on my first day only to find out that the position had been given to someone else. Was I angry and disappointed? Of course. I made myself feel better by deciding I was better off not working for someone so untrustworthy.
It doesn’t explain them because that’s who the author assumes he’s speaking to.
Because people use hyperbole and aren’t always serious. How many times have you said “I’m gonna kill you”?
The last few decades are the most memorable (and frustrating, since I think we really should know better by now), but I think one could argue that we’ve had pretty much the same attitude towards war throughout recorded history.
Unfortunately, that’s true of virtually everyone throughout the world. We’re all immersed in propaganda of one kind or another.
Not alone, it isn’t, but there’s much more to take into account. Russia’s invasion was illegal to begin with, and they have committed numerous war crimes along the way. Most importantly (to me), Ukraine isn’t using this to attack, but as defense on their own soil.
These factors, along with others, make it a morally complex issue. Honestly, I don’t know where I stand.
The sad thing is that Putin doesn’t care about war crimes. He will sacrifice as many soldiers or civilians as necessary to get his way.
Damn that was quick.
Some people may actually dislike those features, sure, but I don’t think most people will. You wouldn’t know it from watching the news, but people are more tolerant than you think, especially in college.
The best way to get people to stop thinking you’re a “freak” is to spend time with them and show them you’re a nice person. It’s okay if you’re kind of unusual. Everyone is, so try not to worry about it. What you think of as weird traits become charming quirks to people who know you.
Of course, this is much easier said than done. I wish you the best. Just try to remember that nobody judges you as harshly as you judge yourself.
Yikes. I thought that looked like a soldering iron, but I really hoped I was wrong. Damn.
Maybe they want you to be grateful that you could actually get to a hospital, instead of just suffering in the street? “Count your blessings”, instead of focusing on the negative stuff?
You’re right, though. This isn’t a great message for an emergency room.
That’s my point. Either way, you’re not getting reviews.
Paying for early access isn’t any different from preordering. People will never learn.
So… of the employees who sold shares before the warnings, what laws did they break?
