I can choose with my credit card to designate a purchase over 100 bucks as a pay over time purchase. I don’t use it for anything less than 4 digits, but this year we got hammered by 4 4-digit car repairs, a 4-digit tree removal, two surgeries for our dog, and a few other unexpected big expenses. I used it for the car repairs and the dog surgeries because there was a promotion where there was no fee, it just raises the minimum monthly payment, and brought the interest down. I didn’t have the cash to pay that many things off at once so I’m using to to pay them down that way at a lower rate.
But you are absolutely right, using pay later plans for small frequent purchases is not great. They might not have a choice though.
Ok I literally saw this tonight, but I think it’s going to be one of my all time favorites:
Hundreds of Beavers
I’ve been working on my Spanish with practice from some of my coworkers and patients. So far Duolingo’s “flash cards” have actually been pretty helpful, but I grant that some of the actual "instruction"isn’t there. I went from really rudimentary Spanish to being able to conduct a patient evaluation in Spanish as long as it’s straight forward.
Everyone shits on Duo but I’ve found it to be a really helpful practice tool myself.
Terry Pratchett. Brandon Sanderson has a nice essay about Pratchett.
They already started. I think it’s too late
My unpopular opinion is that whatever you record should consider the format it’ll be viewed in as well as the orientation of the subject in the video. Is it going to be viewed on a phone, one handed, while someone is eating or pooping? Then vertical might make sense. If the subject fits better in a vertical video, then that makes sense as well.
I don’t know how people manage to use Libby. Always takes months to get the book I’m wanting to read, which is fine if it’s a one-off, but I really like reading long series
I’ve started using “hello chums”
Mech mechanic simulator?
I never used to be a tool guy, but then I finally was able to buy a house. The joy I get doing yardwork and fixing things, especially when I have the right tool for the job, gives me so much joy. I genuinely love going to hardware stores now.
Hey! I did this same thing! Also cost about 6 or 700
My mom died a week and a half ago. So no.
We use browser office 365 at work. It’s on a Windows computer. I gotta say it sucks ass if your stuff doesn’t all live in an associated onedrive. We have a shared drive that common files live in and accessing them from the browser office is a mess.
I can’t agree with you more on this. I have used them for years, most recently got one with a scalloped side that fits in your hand so nicely. My son is a cub scout and just got one too, his first pocketknife.
Wildly disagree about Oreos
You created Resizeratus Rex, so you are more creative than you give yourself credit for
Once took a taxi downtown with my family when we were in a different city, and the drive home was twice as much as the drive there (second driver took a different route). My dad challenged him on it and he backed down an accepted the same fare as the first driver.
Same company, same rates, just a dbag driver
