My father in law was a commercial pilot and he had a home server just to keep photos and travel writing while he was flying and away from home a lot. I helped him upgrade some of that to the cloud, since that makes for sense when on the other side of the country, but he still has a bunch of stuff at home.
Painfully realistic. To the point of not really being fun. Which I think was kind of the goal – they Army was trying to show the kiddies a little bit of what reality was like, while also trying to rope them in.
Closest comparison is probably ARMA 3, IMO

Anyone using custom user agents is a tech bro and they have money – give them MacBook tier prices
Somehow gotta shoehorn race into every discussion. Lemmy gonna Lemmy.
Homeboy can’t even run a livestream correctly with modern technology, why tf you think he’ll make anything work on Mars?
“It’ll happen in the future with future technology” is a cop out. I’ll believe it when fusion and self driving cars become mainstream.
If they get root or admin they can hack the chip itself.
But minor exploits, nada, no issue, you good. Gotta get root to make it happen.
Problem is if you, as they say, get got, you have no way of knowing if they’re in your CPU, and no way to fix if they did – basically gotta trash it and replace.
We can’t even reliably get a couple astronauts out of orbit – maybe next year? Why the hell do you think we could sustain life on Mars reliably?
croque madame
Nah Canonical was always kinda crackpot when compared to Red Hat.
