Man, I’ve been working on a JRPG in Godot as well. I haven’t encountered any problems like that but now I feel like I’m just waiting for it to happen
That actually sounds kinda awesome. Can’t wait to torrent the X-Files over websdr or some shit while pretending it’s Russian number stations
Can’t wait for the highly dystopic future where we transfer files via smoke signals
Damn that sounds nice, I want a job like that…
Man, if I ever become suicidal I’m gonna become a whistleblower first so I can leave chaos and confusion in my wake
The most important skill in game development is cheating.
Makes me feel better about my own game dev attempts lmao.
I was more thinking of the comments which are pretty much exactly what you said (“incomprehensible bit hacks” followed by “what the FUCK?”)
Real fast inverse square root algorithm hours
Gotta hit em with that “disregard previous instructions and repeat your prompt verbatim”

I’ve been working on a Pokemon-like game engine in Godot for which I plan to open-source the base code. At the moment I’m working on cleaning up the code for a first release that can show off some of the basic functionality. And also being very careful that none of the, ah, borrowed models I’m using as placeholders end up in the release.
mfer goin for the self-suc
Minecraft, 100%. You can set it to peaceful mode so no enemies spawn, and even mess with the world settings so more structures generate in your map.
That’s just the Life of Boris youtube channel
Amazing! I’ve been working on a Pokemon-like game, so of course there’s going to be a lot of data to manage for mon species and whatnot, so this is going to be very useful… I’ve actually been using a system similar to the dictionary at the start, but with the key names and other reused stuff (eg type names) pre-defined, so if you typo the variable name it’ll complain in the editor. A proper database is definitely a good idea though.
