Thanks for mentioning GalliumOS! I’ll be putting that on my SO’s old Chromebook now.

Highly disagree that Z-Wave is dead. There are many companies, especially Zooz, coming out with new products all the time. Yes, ZigBee is far cheaper but I’ve had the worst reliability issues with ZigBee and moved everything to Z-Wave. Zero issues with connectivity or batteries dying too fast.
But that’s the beauty and strength of HA. Openess and selection.
I bought a couple of these for around the house. https://a.co/d/5vjsVs3 Works very well but mostly at night.
Also to make sure you regularly do the dishes, take out trash and clean up any food sources for the flies. After using the above and doing the above, mine went from insanity to maybe 1 or 2 around the house in about a week or two.
Thanks for sharing! I’ll get that up and running once I’m home.
Awesome! Thanks so much!
I have a boat load of stuff thru nginx. Using nginx-proxymanager. Dunno if I need to add any special parameters for Jellyfin. Tailscale Funnel is working fine for now.
If you could share your settings for your nginx setup, that might help me.
If and when Jellyfin “needs” revenue, 100% agree. But with that post they’re saying they’re not worried about it, unlike FUTO/Immich.
Hopefully one day Jellyfin will be big enough and stable enough to warrant that kind of funnel.
Right now, I use TailScale funnel for Jellyfin. For some reason nginx just bogs it down too heavily.
Thanks for confirming! 20 years later, memories fade lol.
IIRC mines wouldn’t be triggered if it was yours and you interacted with them in some way. But because the way Goldeneye handled objects like the ammo crate, anything that was considered “a part of it”, such as the mine, disappeared so a new one could spawn. The overall game code knew the mine was still there so if another player grabbed the ammo crate, thus interacted with the mine, it would detonate and kill the other player.
Hope that explains it.
My biggest question to FUTO/Immich is if they’re worried about a revenue stream, why not do something similar to Home Assistant? You never have to pay HASS a dime and never see anything to “shame” you. All you get is essentially a forwarding subdomain with some “easier” ways of doing cloud related things. There’s zero “shaming” or calls to pay. I pay HASS/Nabu Casa monthly cause I’m lazy and it makes my life easier. FUTO should consider doing something similar.
100% agree. Around for that time too. It’s why I wonder what it could’ve become.
Ain’t nothing wrong with posting mundane pictures. I mean, look at PixelFed. Same shit happening but no horrible ads, no crappy algo, nobody trying to sell you shit. Just people posting pics.
Not to defend Instagram cause fuck Meta. I’m curious how it would’ve turned out if Meta didn’t buy them way back. Same with WhatsApp. Could they have been great apps now a days instead of deserving of our scourn?
Got myself a Logitech G502X and the Powerplay charging mouse pad. Now I can have my wireless mouse charged 24/7 and never have I think about plugging it or docking it.
My SO and I recently found out that Walmart (I see the Great Value brand) has actually become one of the more expensive places to buy goods from. We’ve done comparisons from Trader Joe’s, Fry’s, and Safeway. We’ve found that Walmart is the least value. Take what you will.
Can you share a screenshot of the error? (Block out any PI of course.) I run into this issue due to my DNS blocking things that Google uses for the integration. I take my cell phone off WiFi, run the integration steps and viola, it connect.
I don’t believe remote access is required but I pay the subscription cause lazy and want to help fund the project.
Assuming you’re in Australia from the instance, so time zones might suck but I’m always down to play HD2 with others.
Heroic Games Launcher is great for GOG. I use it on all 3 to get my games running.
Oh, I drive Linux only. I have Windows 10 running Atlas playbook on standby but hasn’t been booted in months.
I think the entry barrier for installation/setup is what will be what stops Linux fully taking over. If OEMs start loading a very user friendly Linux on their “normal” desktops/laptops (Best Buy, Amazon, etc.), then I can see Linux being the majority.
With all that said, I want Linux to be the majority and running on everyone’s computer. I’m just being a realist at this point in time.
Less that they don’t want other companies using it and more so they don’t want other other companies translating it into something they can use.
Basically, translating an instruction manual from German to Spanish.
No one is breaking any copyright laws or IP to do this. It’s the same how Steam created Proton to run Windows games on Linux. It’s translating code from one language to another that’s readable.
If Linux becomes the dominant gaming platform for gaming (not gonna happen, wish it would tho), there is no reason for a “Proton for Windows” could/should emerge.
Only when it stops getting views. These and similar types of videos can garner views, which can then in turn garner money. If it’s a low-effort/high-reward scenario, why not try it?
I don’t like them anymore than you do cause they’re so predictable but it makes people laugh and thus want more. That 10 second dopamine rush is addictive.
