I just can’t get over how lazy it is to blame “the current guy” though. I want to say to these people: Surprise, the response to a massive global pandemic led to a couple of years of inflation! (On top of that, poorly regulated capitalism and corporate consolidation led to opportunistic greed and historic profits, what a coincidence!) Who is trying to solve these problems (and who is obstructing)? What are their plans (and are they already improving the situation)? Connect the dots and vote for intelligent policies and people with real plans. This is not a game.

I would hope people don’t see Ukraine and Israel support as the same thing, but I’m all out of hope. On one hand, we have a newly democratic Ukraine and Zelinskyy trying to survive an invasion from a longtime US enemy and so-called superpower, after every heinous thing Putin done in the last decade? (But I’m sure “some people” think brutal dictators should be free to steamroll Europe again.) Seems like we finally found a worthy cause for our obligatory trillion-dollars-per-year military industrial complex! On the other hand, Netanyahu bombs civilians on a daily basis so he can avoid prosecution (sounds familiar). Hmm…

Sure. Costs are too high. People are angry. But angry people are not very reasonable or logical, and easier to manipulate. They just voted against any helpful progressive policies, in favor of tariffs, austerity, oligarchs, fascism, chaos, etc. This was very dumb.

To me, the core problem is that Democrats lost the information war, esp. with the average low info voters (“I get my news from Facebook/TikTok”). It didn’t help that Biden funded genocide and Harris ignored progressives.

I’m sure the totals are so absurd that I can’t really comprehend the numbers. But Citizens United set the rules of the game. And Democrats don’t have that sweet cult advantage.

Embarrassing, but so is Trump and Vance winning so many working class votes, while being extremely wealthy anti-labor anti-union cunts, backed by world’s loudest and richest dipshit, which will demand more tax cuts (for them), tariffs and austerity (for us). “But Biden prices went up!” SMFH.

And why do they serve them: All points back to the insane amount of money necessary to run a campaign (esp. at higher levels, vs billionaires, etc).

I’m kind of amazed that more politicians don’t just promise to try to implement all the highest polling ideas. (Spoiler: Most are progressive and socialist policies.) Especially presidential candidates running against potentially catastrophic fascists.

They make mistakes, but Firefox and Mozilla are obviously nowhere near as fucked up as Chrome and Google by any measure. And Firefox would only improve if people stopped running back to Chrome when something was not perfect.

Definitely check voter registration. Quick and easy at state or county website. And register any change of address (along with updating ID, DL).

I usually remember to check about a month before election, or when I see a new illegal “voter purge” in the news (always GOP).

At least MS account may be slightly more useful (OS, software, school, work). There is literally no reason to have PSN account except a few exclusive games on PlayStation. Even worse are smaller game devs and pubs nagging for accounts.

Of course there is no great reason offline/SP/old games should require an account to play, and out of principle “nope” should be considered. But almost every goddamn thing requires an account these days. At least we have decent password managers now…

Sometimes I think people forget we are animals, who have been acting civilized for a relatively short amount of time. Also, there are plenty of ways to damage our brains and increase aggression (violence, accidents, substances, etc).

I used Power Delete Suite (javascript IIRC, via Firefox, year ago) to edit and delete, and mine are still gone. Not sure if it is still effective.

Reddit is probably less and less tolerant about edits and deletions, now that they’re full speed on selling our data. Still see plenty of deleted posts when I’m searching for things, which is… nice I guess (bittersweet).

I’m kind of amazed that I haven’t subscribed to Netflix in years now. They are always raising prices, and are too special to offer discounts (unlike competitors). Quality has generally gone downhill. They barely advertise, so I only hear of a few hits that escape the bubble. Most of their revenue seems to be from FOMO at this point, plus “eh, it’s good enough”. I’m happy to sail the high seas to obtain any highly-rated content they might accidentally produce.

Yes we can. It’s in my blocked users, like any others (using Sync app). I’ve blocked it mostly because the formatting is lazy and word count excessive. It just “gets in the way”. Plus I generally already know the bias of most reputable sources, as do most news junkies.

For things that look legit, for example seasonal political campaigns, and include in message something like “reply STOP to quit”, replying “STOP” does usually end it quickly. Recommended.

Should be one of the first things any anti-spam app/feature should be doing. Wish it was automated into OS spam defenses, then the “responsive human” worry would be eliminated.

I thought this was the best course of action, too. It was not. New numbers, seemingly infinite, keep spamming me. They are political, seemingly real Democrat-linked entities (but I’m skeptical because this spam is obviously a brain-dead idea). After replying “STOP”, they definitely slowed.

I love Keepa, and the Firefox addon. However, they seemed to nerf their wishlist features (auto sync problems, 10 items max, etc). Noticed after missing deals, due to not receiving alerts of price drops. Still very useful, but CCC now has more reliable auto tracking lists (just add to wishlist, it will auto sync and email any drops).

Yes, the initial reaction seems to be “he just won”, but that’s a bit silly with 3-4 months to go. Don’t worry (yet)! We have no idea if the violence will escalate, or what absolutely fucking insane things will occur in this time (esp. Oct-Nov)!
