“And then it got worse.”
“And then it got worse.”
To be fair, that is a pretty funny prank.

I don’t think Midgley really did anything to increase the amount of carbon in the atmosphere — just the amount of lead and CFCs.
Environmental historian J. R. McNeill opined that Midgley “had more adverse impact on the atmosphere than any other single organism in Earth’s history”
Ouch.

Why don’t they just hire more people with the $700 million they’ve raised?
Estimates have put the game’s budget at upwards of $250 million, so they’d need to sell at least 5 times as many copies to even break even. Games (from traditional studios, anyway) are crazy expensive now.
I’ve been getting a lot of ads for Ground News lately in other media that I consume, to the point where it makes me think most of their revenue is going right back into marketing.
I would not be surprised at all if they’ve tossed some money at the mods here for the purpose of boosting their signal even further.
Which, when presented without a shed of evidence, is equally dangerous (as these last few weeks have very clearly demonstrated).
This comment has big “Haitians are eating cats” energy.
I don’t have any proof, but just think about it, man!
There’s a state park in Kentucky called “Big Bone Lick”
I feel like this could create some pretty toxic incentives.
Like, imagine if the moment a person dies all of their works immediately go into the public domain… What’s to stop a company like Disney from just straight-up assassinating people who create promising IPs? They paid 4 billion dollars for Star Wars — but why not just have George Lucas murdered for a fraction of the price?
Curious how they quantify ‘attractiveness’. Is it self-reported, or are they attempting to use some kind of qualitative metric to rate the attractiveness of participants?
If the former, you could just as easily draw the conclusion that more confident people spend less time gaming.
Person says thing will happen “at some time”.
now all US rockets are free from Russian parts
Technically this isn’t true. The US military no longer has any unfulfilled launch contracts that will use Russian engines, but the ULA still has some RD-180s that they will almost certainly use for future commercial launches. Today simply marks the end of the RD-180 as a means of launching military payloads.
If Elmo doesn’t terrify you at least a little bit, then I seriously question your humanity.
Richard Head
I’m sorry, his name was what?
This honestly wouldn’t surprise me.
Musk has the ear of the president, and it’s not like Trump gives a shit about space. He’ll rubber stamp whatever Elon wants when it comes to the launch industry, and I didn’t think I have to explain to anyone why cancelling SLS would be good for SpaceX’s bottom line.
Frankly, I think 50/50 odds are way too generous. More like 80/20 in favor of SLS being scraped and access to space being fully privatized for a generation.
