Well, picking an instance itself already requires a bit of technical knowledge which filters out most of the idiots. That combined with lack of karma counter makes an average Lemmy interaction more genuine and less karma whoring
Maybe because lack of content? I open Lemmy, “oh the top posts are still the same as it was 6 hours ago”, goes back to doing what I was doing. I love it
Interactions also feel more genuine because of the lack of karma counter, at least not officially, a decision that I hope they keep. There are less karma whoring and more sharing your real thoughts here

I built a Python script that scrapes metadata from Spotify and apply it to songs downloaded off YouTube so it looks identical as if you bought the album.
I’ve been thinking to post it on like GitHub cause it’ll be useful for tons of people but I also don’t want to get sued
