Hi guys, first of all, I fully support Piracy. But Im writing a piece on my blog about what I might considere as “Ethical Piracy” and I would like to hear your concepts of it.

Basically my line is if I have the capacity of paying for something and is more convinient that pirating, ill pay. It happens to me a lot when I wanna watch a movie with my boyfriend. I like original audio, but he likes dub, so instead of scrapping through the web looking for a dub, I just select the language on the streaming platform. That is convinient to me.

In what situations do you think is not OK to pirate something? And where is 100 justified and everybody should sail the seas instead?

I would like to hear you.

A subscription to pretty much any streaming service gives you everything now.

You don’t have idea in how wrong you are in that statement. I have over than 100 albums on my library that never came out in streaming music and frequently I hear of something being putting down from them. It’s not true even to USA’s music.

Besides, paying £30 in Spotify where they use audio codecs with lose is just dumb. Deezer has everything it has and costs less than half of this.

For what it’s worth, I think the £30 was a theoretical amount for the “everything video” service.

But yeah, as a mashup enthusiast I’m resigned to the idea that it’s never going to be well represented on streaming as a genre due to the concerns around licensing.

PlexAmp and Plex (and a few other things, I guess) are my solution, but it still means that link sharing with friends is an awkward mess.

Who is paying £30 to Spotify? That’s like a tenner.

The £30 was my price for a hypothetical video version of that.
