I think this is the third reference to quest 64 I’ve seen in a few days now
What is going on
Ok, so I found a novelty account on X/Twitter (“Quest 64 Official”) that has been spreading Quest 64 memes and think it’s hilarious, so I’ve been reposting them to Lemmy.
(There will almost certainly be more)
Okay, understood, keep up the good work
Thank you for that, definitely an interesting read. I like that they mention that even unpopular games may have people that love it.
Ooof. X? You sacrifice your mental health for the good of the many, Sir. I offer you a Spock for your efforts.
I like to think I’m immune to anything people could post from my time on the early days of the internet, but yeah, it’s like a sea of totally unfiltered opinions/content over there. There are still a lot of good fandoms, memes, news, etc., but you have to also scroll through conspiracies, political astroturfing, and every hateful thought that someone decided to write today.
Fortunately it’s not the only place I casually scour for content for the fediverse.
You’ve officially made the most reddit comment I’ve seen in a long time
Old Reddit before the dumpster fire was lit, I hope!
What a NERD.
Quest 64 really brings me back. I haven’t thought about that game in a long time.
Is there any trout fishing in quest64‽
Magic barrier only worked for one turn :(
That game is generic trash.
But it’s generic trash that’s enjoyable, much like Nickelback
I mean, it was literally designed to introduce children to RPGs…
I thought quest64 happened because square told nintendo to go pound sand, released FF7 on the PS and left previously-leader-of-the-jrpg-pack nintendo with fuck all?
like, snes had TONS of good rpg’s, and the 64 had nothing, despite people clamoring for the things.
I seem to recall it was intended to fill a gap and was instead used to prove “see? Nobody likes these games!”.
That’s a positive take.
As a teen playing it, part of my dislike of it was the lack of context and clarity to what was going on. So even if that was the intent, I think it sadly failed to meet that goal, imo.
Quest 64 deserves more love
