Here’s the rules, anyone, anywhere in the world who has an expertise or is even good at something, or has some knowledge, you can take that expertise for yourself, but they do lose it in the process.
Nobody knows it was you but the person who you stole it from, they can no longer do tasks that that level, (e.g. an artist can no longer draw but you can)
Would you do it? Could you live with the guilt or would you pick some scumbag?
I think I would take Donald Trump’s business experience, say what you want but the dude does have at least a moderate understanding of selling a product. I take that, make myself a decent living (I’m sure I can do it without conning anyone) and donate the rest, leaving him without the only skill that he really relies on. I would have to be careful though, cause if he has money, and knows who I am, he could probably hire a hitman, so I would have to steal his knowledge of his network as well
I think I would take Donald Trump’s business experience. LMFAO. 😂🤣🤣😂
Shut it down y’all, this is all that needs to be said. Next thread.
I would take Donald Trump’s business experience
If taking Trump’s inheritance is an option, I would take it sans his “business acumen”. He got his dad’s money and then did worse with it than if I had followed my dad’s advice to just put it in the S&P 500 and be patient.
I would also likely be a few felony convictions lighter.
IDK, I think stealing material possessions isn’t in the spirit of it, I feel like it has to be mental knowledge. I came up with this while working on a painting and, being a painter, I obviously always look at other artists and wish I had their skills, I guess my ADHD brain led me to going down this rabbit hole of “what if?”
Edit: oof, this got someone salty for some reason, Jokes on you, I’m too drunk to care
Maybe Donald Trump’s dad’s business acumen then? He made the money. Not sure how applicable his business knowledge from the first half of the 1900s would be to today.
I met a guy who was a super specialized crane operator. The dude was illiterate, I met him when he asked my date to help him read the menu. But anyone in the world who needed a really heavy, expensive thing moved into a really challenging location, he was the guy and he made bank. Not that I want to be an illiterate crane operator, but my mind goes to something like that where I would be top in the world and could turn it into a surefire income.
Or maybe consider experience one only gets with age. Like Biden, love his politics or not, he has decades of experience and is known to be a good statesmen, like actually skilled at forging relationships and getting shit to happen in DC. Transfer that experience and knowledge into me, who could build on it for another 30+ years.
That’s true, I bet he probably has a lot to offer mentally, even if he may not be as sharp as he was
I’ll take DaVinci’s creativity and artistic talent, he’s not using it anymore.
Oooh never considered that, I guess dead people are valid according to the rules
Would I do it, yes. From who? – Someone that is about to die and represents a great loss of knowledge and experience.
Presently, Morris Chang
I suppose also if you got consent from someone who is very old and they were okay with it that would negate the guilt, also what skills would you steal specifically, I’m curious as I don’t know who this is
He is the person behind TSMC. Basically, he played a massive role in the modern digital world. You’re likely holding a piece of his legacy right now as you read this.
I would not consider that theft. More a passing of the torch.
Definitely would steal then. I’d pick a criminal, and try use it for good. Absolutely everyone has useful exp in something
So Donald Trump?
Yea, I mean, if someone suddenly gave me his experience in everything like this I’d take it. I’m sure he’s got to have something useful too. But if I could choose I’d probably take the time to do research on which criminal I’d pick. I can’t think of anyone off the top of my head right now, but I’m sure there are people with very specific, remarkable set of skills who aren’t as high profile.
I remember seeing this documentary on a home invader or something and one of his “skills” was he would go to the shoreline and practice sprinting, as in sprinting away from the cops. It makes me wonder if this would be like the game prey, where you have knowledge you can copy but some of the knowledge is physical.
For instance, lifting heavy things is a knowledge pack called “leverage” because obviously you can’t learn their physical strength, but you can learn their best practices for lifting, and thus lift heavier things
Well, I can’t say I would want to steal someone’s talent/expertise, even if it was someone vile.
That being said, I still want to play along.
Here’s my reasoning for not picking some kind of asshole with a money making skillset. I’m too fucking old to deal with that shit. I don’t want the stress, don’t need the stress, and I am old enough that by the time I made enough to really matter, I wouldn’t be able to do much but pass it on.
So, instead, I want a skill/talent that I’ve never had even a little drop of success picking up. That’s music. I have tried keyboards, guitar, computer based things, singing, etc. I just can’t manage to wrap my head around anything well enough to make music. Closest I ever got was making beats, which I was actually okay at, but not good enough to be useful.
So, next criteria is that whoever I steal from has to be old enough that I’ll get more time with their gift than they statistically have left. Ideally, they would be past the point where their abilities are useful to them as a performer making a living.
So, I’d rob Clapton of his guitar playing, and/or Robert Plant’s vocal ability. They’re both old enough that I’m probably going to be able to use the gifts longer than they would, and are masters of their instruments. Since Clapton is also a bit of a douche, that might make someone else happy. I think I’d err on the side of singing if I’m limited by my own body, since I have arthritis in my hands. But if that was magicked away as part of the trade, I think I’d get more mileage out of guitar as I age compared to how lungs and vocal cords age, despite my pipes being in pretty good shape.
If the dead were allowed instead of the living, I’m pulling from Randy Rhodes or Cliff Burton, though I would favor bass tbh. I think I’d end up playing more jazz than metal, but I think that kind of skill set would serve me well in any genre.
If it can only be from people who are alive, I’ll take David Gilmour’s talent on the guitar and with music. If dead people can also be claimed, I’ll also take Eddie Van Halen’s talent on guitar.
Similar here, except I’d go for John Petrucci or David Maxim Micic.
Alternatively, I’d go broader and steal all music talent from Jordan Rudess. Amazing keyboard player, and he’s pretty awesome on guitar too.

Everyone’s choosing something that makes them money, and that’s as interesting as it is disheartening, though I suppose choosing someone like an artist is difficult, since there’s not a huge record of talented artists that are bad, drake maybe?
Basically anyone. I have no talents, so anything would be an improvement.
