    No no no…!

    Both are cataclysmic if they are done wrong. People even forget the Sellafield leaks that happened some 35 years ago. Leaks cause cancer, damage crops, water ways and soils… It doesnt have to blow up to be dangerous. And part of that danger comes from a lack of regulations. Bring in those regulations to protect environments, animals and people and we can happily have nuclear again.

    Until then in places like the UK there is no requirement to safely store waste to high standards, no requirement to monitor the environment around plants, and little powers from energy bodies (eg OFGEM) when these problems arise.
