  • As a foreigner, if you voted for a genocider (there was two in this race), I do not think you are human.

I feel like that’s such an idealistic way of viewing things. Hypothetically, if you had a choice between indirectly supporting genocide or throwing your entire life into chaos you’d rather ruin your own life? If you’re actually willing to ruin your own life for it you’re more passionate about this issue than 99% of the population. For example I don’t have an issue supporting Ukraine, I’ve donated to support packages going to Ukraine. But you won’t find me on the battlefield because there’s a limit to my support and that limit is at not throwing away my life. I guess that makes me inhuman because I could do more and I’m choosing to not to.

If the table turns sometime, if I have to pick between genocide in the US and fascism here, well, I hope you have a place to hide lmao

How hypocritical and vindictive. I won’t do what I consider humane because you deserve it.

  • My bad. I guess she mentioned it more than twice.

But in my defense I don’t think I need to remember all the empty words. You’re working with the president around the clock for a ceasefire and the outcome is an 8 billion military aid package for Israel and further escalations by Isreal? She can say all the thoughts and prayers she wants but it doesn’t change that the administration she’s a part of made no progress on a ceasefire.

If you think she would’ve done a ceasefire after being elected you’re huffing pure copium. If a ceasefire was on the card the ceasefire would’ve happened already . You don’t run on “I know our party is currently in office and can pressure for a ceasefire and we can’t or won’t do anything, however if you elect me then next year we’ll do something.”

Just look at the rally from where the first 2 quotes are from. They’re actually part of the same quote and I’ll add the quote in full.

I have been clear: now is the time to get a cease-fire deal and get the hostage deal done. Now is the time, and the president and I are working around the clock every day to get that cease-fire deal done and bring the hostages home. So, I respect your voices, but we are here to now talk about this race in 2024.

Translation. We hear you but we don’t want to address it.

  • I would absolutely recommend taking time to get comfortable with blueprints, they’ve been a huge timesaver for me. I just got my 600 caterium ingot factory up and running. Took me about 15 minutes to build, connect and wire 50 refineries. They don’t look pretty but I don’t care about pretty. If I wanted to make them pretty I could always build a building around the blueprint.

I also have blueprints for smelters, foundries, constructors, assemblers and manufacturers. All of them running vertically so whenever I need to scale up the production I just build my towers higher and the only manual things I do are connecting the wire between 2 blueprinted parts and connecting the inputs and outputs. Eventually I’ll hit the belt limit, but then I’ll just start a new tower next to the original one. I have also made blueprints for blenders and refineries but those expand horizontally and I’m not 100% happy with them, but they’re still better than manually building them.

I think I’ve saved tenfold the time I spent figuring out good blueprints and it has taken off a huge mental load of factory maintenance because everything is built using the exact same style so it’s pretty simple to understand what is going on in any of my blueprinted factories.

  • Kinda meh list. No mobas, either LoL or Dota2. No racing games, NFS underground or NFS Most wanted should be on that list. Not even the OG Modern Warfare which should 100% be on any top 100 games of all time list. Too many games that were released in the last 5 years.

And it’s not like the list is that stacked you couldn’t fit those games in. Dave the diver? Really? I enjoyed Dave the Diver but I’d put Fez higher than Dave the Diver. Ghosts of Tsushima? Even they themselves say that game does nothing revolutionary or unique. You could throw out either Morrowind or Skyrim because they 90% overlap. Armored Core is there only because they love From. I love From but I don’t think that fits the 100 and I think Sekiro barely fits. I think you can also throw out Prey (2017) because you already have Deus Ex and the latter has been far more influential.

And no Terraria? I’m just going to stop. The more I think about the list the angrier I get about how bad that list is.

  • I don’t mean less casual in that sense. I actually had 3 main points in mind that make satisfactory more casual.

First are the aliens. The evolution and pollution doesn’t stop which means in a way you are fighting against time. If you don’t keep up with it the aliens will attack and destroy your base. I know they can be turned off but the game is designed with their attacks in mind and you’re skipping entire production lines if you turn them off.

The second reason is factory building. I think the extra dimension in Satisfactory makes factory building much easier. If you run out of space horizontally, build up. In Factorio you better plan out how big your factory is going to be because if you run out of space you’re probably going to start spaghettifying your factory or you need to start tearing down parts of your factory to make more space. In my current satisfactory factory I just built a whole new level ontop of my old factory because I couldn’t be bothered to clean it up.

And the last point goes together with the previous point. You have so many things you need to produce. The entire belt production thing for example. If you want express belts you need to build the fast belts which needs the basic belts. If you want express splitters you’re going to have to build the fast splitter, which needs the basic splitter which requires basic belts. Meanwhile in Satisfactory if you want a faster belt you just need the new material for the belt. Factorio production pipelines are like a deep well while Satisfactory production lines are more like a wide puddle (that only towards the very end can go deep, like ficsonium fuel rods). Satisfactory has overall a wider variety of things to produce (if we exclude the tiered items in Factorio), but they’re much less dependent on each other. For example if your industrial beam production isn’t at peak performance that not going to stop you from getting the higher tier belts because they need aluminum which are built from a completely different raw material. Solve aluminum production and you get new belts. Compare that to Factorio where, lets say you want to start using express belts but you’ve been kinda winging your belt production. Well first you need to fix your fast belt production, which then means you need to fix your basic belt production which means you need to fix your iron production which means you have to scale up your iron mining.

The factory can grow over your head but Satisfactory still has easier production pipelines, easier factory planning and you can take however long you want to figure out how to build your factory. To me all of those things indicate that Satisfactory is a more casual experience.

If these aliens can’t tell, they’re morons who clearly didn’t think it through.

There’s a popular phrase:“breeding like rabbits”. We view rabbits like some sex crazed breeding machines, like all they do is fuck. What if we’re the galactic rabbits and the other galactic civilizations aren’t trying to fuck everything that moves? Maybe for them kinks aren’t a thing and as such their test makes sense because you can’t prepare for something you can’t imagine (or believe to be impossible).

Imagine you want to prank an alien by putting a bucket on top of the door. When the alien walks in the bucket falls on them. Brilliant, except the alien doesn’t move the door because it phases through the door. Are you stupid for making a prank that expects the victim to be solid? Or did you just make the prank based on the knowledge you have, which includes knowing you can’t just phase through things.

The aliens weren’t dumb. Maybe they did think in through and they thought it would be impossible to be intelligent being to want to fuck extraterrestrials.

  • But why? As the lead designer in the article states, if the game is good who cares what engine they’re using. The creation engine isn’t holding Bethesda back. Just imagine if Starfield had released on Unreal instead of Creation engine? Would fewer loading screens and better facial animations have saved Starfield? I don’t think so. The engine was not the issue with Starfield, the piss poor game design was the issue. Unreal engine isn’t going to solve boring perks, boring quests and a bland world.

If TES6 comes out on creation engine 2 or 3 or whatever, and it’s the next big thing like Skyrim, nobody is going to give a shit that it’s the same engine. People might actually be angry if it’s not on the Creation engine because that would mean modding is going to take a huge hit. Every current Bethesda game modder would have to learn how to mod Unreal engine and I can near guarantee it’s going to be a lot harder than modding Creation engine.

  • Also most people have little to no reason to identify plants. Most of the time we don’t even eat the whole plant, we eat the fruit or the root or some very specific part of the plant. You could easily identify a potato, but could you identify a potato plant? There are a lot of plants where you see a part of it in the store but you’ve never seen the entire plant. I never knew I had asparagus growing in the garden because what is sold in the store is not what grown asparagus looks like. We don’t eat grown asparagus, we eat the young shoots before they’ve turned woody. A grown asparagus is inedible and the berries are toxic.

  • Kinda but not quite. The fluid buffer isn’t necessary and it’s just one pipe going up and down. The idea of a water tower is to pressurize all your pipes with just one headlift pipe. Let’s say you need 1800 cubic meters of water to go up 40m. How many mk 2 pumps do you need? Three? Actually you need just one. You take one pipe, add the pump to it and bring it up to 40m, then bring it back down. That pipe is your “water tower”. You then connect it to the three pipes you want going up to your factory and all those pipes will move water up to the water tower height. The best part is that you can connect however many additional pipes to that water tower and they all will flow up to the same height without any additional pumps.

Here’s a quick 2min video explaining the concept.
