Drink More Glurp!
Windows 10 DLC just dropped. Copilot added from Windows 11.
Not just that, but they are actively hostile and hypocritical about it. Every 1-3 months they prevent RCS from working on rooted phones or phones running alternate ROMs. The fact that they spent so much time complaining that Apple wouldn’t comply with the “open” standard while limiting users’ options on their own platform is very frustrating.
Unless your brain is fucking broken like mine, lol.
This is what truly pisses me off about Google/Alphabet bitching about Apple not supporting RCS. Google does not offer any kind of API or access for developers to hook into RCS messaging and the have structured it in such a way with extensions to the standard that are Google only so even if there were other RCS providers it wouldn’t be fully compatible. Fuck.
Your benefit of the doubt assumption is correct. He has explained it in detail a couple of times. Like you I find it unfortunate and frustrating.
Still, based on some of the numbers they have talked about their employee retention is very good and considering how talented many of the people who work for him are, if it were a shitty place to work that could likely easily find work elsewhere. I have a number of criticisms of Linus and his ADHD snap judgments or out of touch privileged takes, but he still strikes me as someone that does genuinely want to do the right thing that got insanely lucky and had to adapt to a crazy situation no random person off thee street would ever be that prepared before.
God speed, lol.
FWIW I exclusively use PLA and don’t have experience with any other materials.
This is a glass bed on an Ender that I am doing this on. I haven’t had any issues with scratching the bed whatsoever. Mild steel is actually softer than glass so it might actually be harder to scratch than you might think. Your mileage may vary though.
When a print is really stuck, I use a puddy knife with a fine edge and a hammer to get them separated.
Giving it a look now, much appreciated.
That’s my worst case, but I’d rather not as there are times when I’d like to change the macros during work and I won’t be bringing a personal computer with me to work to do so.
My employer does have a process for requesting software, but it’s a very large company and requires that it go through a whole vetting process and security audits before having it added to the approved software list. I’m already applying some pressure to have some more important software added and am trying not to burn up all the good will I may have 😅.
I am actually able to connect to the VIA web app, but I don’t have any compatible devices currently. It’s very possible though that we may have some software or policy that will block it when I attempt to do so though (it’s not unusual to be able to connect to a website and do certain things only to have specific actions trigger some piece of our security suite). Knowing what the average user is like I can’t really fault them for it, but it is annoying.
All that said, would you have a recommendation for the cheapest VIA pad on Aliexpress that I could buy to test with?
When not even my closest coworkers or boss could tell if I was working or screwing off because working on or doing research for my personal projects is indistinguishable from my work ones 😅
The super duper shitty thing is that they could have canceled it by opening the Run dialog box and typing “shutdown -a”, so it’s not even like canceling wasn’t an option. M$ just decided to be dicks about it
Billions? As in Billions of dollars? Really?
Chiming in to echo others with my experience in my current job I had three interviews (that I remember, but I think it might have actually been four). The interviews that I remember in order were HR, engineering management, the rest of the engineering team. The HR interview was by phone and mostly to validate that we were on the same page as far as things like pay, qualifications, job description, etc. The second interview was with engineering management and done via Teams with video. The third was in person and in addition to another brief talk with engineering management they also showed me where I would be working and had me talk to various people on my current team to see how they liked me.
It has pros and cons. The biggest con I think is having HR and ATS at the front of the process as there are likely really good candidates that are filtered out as a result of not being able to balance their resume in such a way that both HR and Engineering sees their value.
It might be a bit overboard, but I have a Redmine instance running on my NAS that can likely do everything you want. Some out if the box, some with plugins. It’s pretty nice. If you don’t want to worry about installing it you can download a complete installer from Bitnami.
I have been eyeing that model for a while now, nice to have some additional confirmation about it. Thanks!
That’s easier said than done. I have a passport, but a lot of countries are still pretty hard to get a job in as a foreigner even with a skill set that is in demand. I have actually been looking for a while. It’s not easy.
