sounds like to much work. I just use the privacy-oriented photo backup solution ente. (And, because I’m an android user – plus having multiple backups – I also use Google Photos)

considering Elon is killing twitter, I don’t think that’s a viable option. Every assemble…to Mastodon and our savior of decentralized social media!
Examine TikTok’s U.S. facilities, records, equipment and servers with minimal or no notice,
not related. But this kind of reminds me of https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2257 specifically:
© Any person to whom subsection (a) applies shall maintain the records required by this section at his business premises, or at such other place as the Attorney General may by regulation prescribe and shall make such records available to the Attorney General for inspection at all reasonable times.
So, at least it’s nothing new. there’s precedence for it in existing law.
I like my Fitbit Charge 5. Honestly, really the only reason that I went with a health/fitness tracker instead of a smartwatch is battery life. As much as the extra features of a smartwatch would be nice. The problem with smartwatches is that you have to charge them daily (something I already do with my phone, and I’d rather not add another device that I have to do that for). Whereas, with a health/fitness tracker (like the Fitbit Charge 5) I only have to charge it like… every couple of days (I haven’t kept track, sadly, but I’d estimate at least a minimum of 5 days)
I keep hoping that smartwatches will get good enough battery life like health trackers that they’ll be viable (the pixel smartwatch looks nice), but we haven’t reached that day yet.
Tweetdeck has been dying a slow death since they killed the Android app back in 2013 (RIP. Still miss you buddy!)
too real
how is it not renewable? If we build modern nuclear plants those plants can use the spent nuclear fuel that is just…currently sitting around in piles of storage. Sounds like the ultimate win to me!
Just another reason why messengers like Signal and SimpleX that don’t require phone numbers or email addresses are much more private
I definitely grabbed the json
My instance is pixelfed.social. no matter what browser i use (librewolf/firefox, brave, edge on desktop. Brave/firefox on Mobile) importing simply doesn’t work. It lets me select the file and nothing further post that point 🤷♀️
How do dictators come to power? Spoiler: it’s not by winning elections. (well okay that’s not entirely true since Trump won)
Edit: Damn look at all the bigots
Either that, or with a freaking war going on, I suspect the police are occupied with much more important matters (like public safety and whatnot)
I’d recommend GrapheneOS just because it’s much more private and secure (and everyone should care about privacy and the security of their shit)
Basically. Mastodon is a Twitter alternative. Pixelfed is an instagram alternative.
Now, if only the import from instagram would work🙄
It’ll probably never happen because the unemployment rate for autistic people is 85%. But in an ideal world, I’d love to build my own (if there’s any sugar mommies/daddies out there that feel like spoiling someone 🤔):
Just for funsies I just built it in pcpartpicker https://pcpartpicker.com/user/JoshuaACasey/saved/cqjnpg
edit: motherboard seems out-of-stock, so if this ever becomes a reality, might have to make some adjustments for a different micro itx motherboard (plus compatible cpu of course. no biggie, thanks to the existence of pcpartpicker, compatibility is a breeze!)
That’s a fairly common saying in the bdsm community. Don’t “yuck someone’s yum”
you’re more than free to, as they say, “fuck around and find out”. I hope for your sake you have the money and time to deal with lawyers and court
to be fair, all cloud services scan. It’s unfortunately necessary to detect CSAM to stop people from spreading it.
